ok gnite fo'realz

sneezx...thanks so much for sharing your review!:) Sounds like it was an amazing show. Glad to hear that Chris felt well enough to perform! Loved the part about Will holding up the sign saying "Coldplay Loves USA".

I am truly staggered at this band's ability to pull together despite poor health' date=' exhaustion and over a year's worth of touring to put together a US tour finale like this show. Absolutely Brilliant.[/quote']Cheers to the band!

Looking forward to seeing the videos and pics!

16)In My Place - Clearly exhausted, Crhis still sprinted out into Section 106 and back onto the stage after being groped profusely.

That was my section! It was so cool! I was a few rows up from where he was, but I had a GREAT view of him. This the second time Chris has ran to/through my section! Last time (in Camden) he ran right past me, and this time he was right in front of me! I'm spoiled!

But yeah, the whole show was GREAT! Really impressed how Chris held it together. Could sorta tell something was up at the beginning because he kept singing stuff the octave down. When he started talking before the spotlight came up on him, I had NO idea who it was. He really sounded terrible, but sang pretty much perfectly. And even during a couple of times when he had to stop, the audience just picked it right back up for him. I could hear people singing for EVERY song. It was great. Especially White Shadows (surprisingly). It really got an AMAZING reaction from the audience. My entire section and the section next to me was going WILD, and everyone was singing and clapping and bouncing around. Amazing. Should've been 4th single!

But overall the show was amazing! Gonna miss them while they're gone for a while. I didn't think I would as much until I saw them live (again).

Great show!

I believe it's the X&Y code that scrolls across the back. Compare:

Actually - Angie is kind of right. I can definitely see X&Y code in mirror opposite, plus something else, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

I have a couple of nice pictures from the show last night, but for some reason, I can't post attachments. I've never had this problem before! I'll try and throw some on a Photobucket account so you guys can see them.

EDIT: Here you go...Photobucket with some of my better pictures from last night. I got all the good moments in there. I really like the one I have of Chris when he ran out during In My Place. (I was in 105, he came to 106, so he was really close.)

Enjoy!

good show ashcroft played well

chris's voice was too strained but the band was on top

Chris' voice being strained didnt take away from the fantasic show they put on! We sat in 107,dead center....will never forget it! What a great idea (the signs) The band was clearly moved and the crowd was deafening-Philly gave much love!!!!!!!!! I felt so fortunate to have been there! :)

Having seen a very ill and woozy Chris at the China Club in NY nine hours earlier, doubt about this show even being played had entered my mind.

Every ounce of doubt, every criticism about the "same setlist" being played every night and every thought of this being a quick, routine performance were assuaged with this show.

Immediately following Ashcroft's finale of "Bittersweet Symphony", some brilliant members of this board handed out seemingly thousands of copies of 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of white paper with the words "USA LOVES COLDPLAY". Clearly, this was going to add an element to an otherwise already highly charged atmosphere of high energy.

At about 9:30, the most energetic and LOUD "Square One" I've witnessed in the six shows I've caught this tour brought the sell-out crowd into a frenzy. High energy, solid sounding voice (albeit shaky at times), exceptional performance.

SETLIST HIGHLIGHTS:

1) Square One

2) Politik - A proper version, no ad-libs, "give me love over" lyric in it's correct place.

3) Yellow - It appeared not a single balloon made it ONTO the stage, unique and noteworthy as they have obstructed the band in the past.

4) Speed of Sound - The Wachovia Center's 360 degree video screens made the visuals for this truly remarkable.

5)What If

6)God Put a Smile Upon Your Face - Here Chris thanked the Doctor from Philadelphia who enabled him to sing and regain his health in order to perform

7) Don't Panic (Johnny sang part of the second verse)

8) White Shadows - Outro featured Jonny & Chris doing their "Brokeback" spooning on the floor

9) The Scientist

10) Til Kingdom Come

11) Ring of Fire

12) Trouble (TKC, ROF & Trouble were all acoustically performed, the piano Will was using malfunctioned, prompting Chris to utter, "Never buy a keyboard from George W. Bush...that's neither an endorsement nor a criticism")

13) Clocks - Standard countdown conclusion

14) Talk - At the end of the song, out came the "USA Loves Coldplay" signs...the boys clearly saw this and I believe were quite appreciative*

-----

15) Swallowed in the Sea - I finally wrote down the order of the tracks that appear on the screen during this song that apparently represents a temporary tracklist for "X&Y" from October 25, 2004.

16)In My Place - Clearly exhausted, Crhis still sprinted out into Section 106 and back onto the stage after being groped profusely.

17) Fix You - Very energetic, and enthusiastic with much passion for the last time this song was played on the US tour...Chris destroyed the light bulb with a huge swing out over the audience.

*From my vantage point, it appeared Will took a copy of the sign and tore it, realigning the sign's fragments to read "Coldplay Loves USA"...perhaps it was handwritten...correct me if I'm wrong

An extended series of bows and curtain calls met thunderous applause that only got louder as Chris remained on the right side of the staging disrobing. After removing his shirt and shoes, it appeared he began to undo his trousers and then headed off the stage, perhaps the fever he had at noon had returned...

After seeing them on 8/7/05, 9/3/05, 9/6/05, 3/25/06, 3/26/06 and now tonight...COLDPLAY has proven (not that they needed to), that no matter what criticism may come their way, they can rise above it.

I am truly staggered at this band's ability to pull together despite poor health, exhaustion and over a year's worth of touring to put together a US tour finale like this show. Absolutely Brilliant.

WONDERFUL REVEIW! :)

hey guys. i havent posted in a while. but man, the concert last night was absolutely unreal. from square one to fix you and everything in between, singing at the top of my lungs (chris said we all have good voices) and the meanings of some songs really hitting me hard. i looked around the wachovia center as this band of brilliance played their hearts out for the last US crowd in a few years, and as people filed out i couldnt help but see the people that had that look on their face. The true fans have that look that this was more than a concert..it was an experience...a gift...and something really special. Thanks to everyone I was involved with, although only for a few days, the signs were an awesome thing to be a part of when I handed them out. Long live coldplay!!!!

Hello all,

This is my first post here, after dropping in on Wednesday for the first time. It was actually reading the forums here that inspired me to bring my camera along on Thursday night. I've photographed all the recent concerts I've gone to, but I had actually planned to take this particular show off (especially considering that our seats were in the end of the arena opposite the stage). Bottom line, though: I'm glad I brought the camera, and I hope you enjoy the results.

It was a fantastic show! A great set, and Chris's illness didn't put a damper on anything at all. The crowd was also pretty darn good.

125004204_5c1bfbd64d.jpg

It was very cool to see an arena full of signs. I was actually a bit (pleasantly) surprised that everyone managed to follow the directions (to wait until the first encore to hold them up!).

Naturally, one of the most memorable moments was the very end of the show, when Chris tore up one of the signs...

125005747_0d1eede39a.jpg

...and had the band stand to show the audience some love in return!

Anyway, hope you all enjoy the photos, and thanks again for the inspiration...

Hellooo all! I really need to upload my pics and show you guys a few great ones. I must say, U2ROB - your pics came out pretty nicely! I'm always curious as to what camera everyone is using, you mind telling me what yours is? The shots are beautiful....!!!

Sometimes I feel like my camera is on the wrong setting and things come out too dark or whatever, or could it be just my shakiness, I have no idea. Despite that, I managed to get memorable shots but like i said i'm always wondering if there is better....

and honestly holding up those signs at the beginning of the encore was the most magical thing i have ever seen... gosh it almost got me teary-eyed and i could feel the goosebumps upon me... it was sad to feel the show was almost ending and let alone the feeling knowing you can't see the band til god knows when the next cd will be out... or when they even go on tour.... ahhh, i'm getting all choked up lol. i need to stop and i should probably sleep.

Rob,

Amazing shots...some of the best of the tour. Would it be possible to post the following pictures in this thread for the individuals who printed and passed out the signs. Thanks.

oh my. ur 12x zoom did really come in handy.. is there any way i could look at them in a larger size? it would be much appreciated!

wow very clear pics!! i like the one where hes in the crowd. nicely done

all in all i think you guys gave coldplay a wonderful close to their tour

Agreed...you have some cool pictures there, Rob. What section were you in?? I keep trying to find me in the crowd on that one you have of Chris during In My Place. Unfortunately, I think I'm up one row from the top. Oh well!

By the way, you have some really nice pictures from other concerts on there, too! Especially liked the ones from U2 on 5/14...I was there, too, so that was pretty cool.

Also, I just figured out how to get some of my pictures off of Photobucket and on here...so...enjoy! :)

Good stuff, polkahard! I especially like the shot you posted from Yellow. Thanks for the compliment on my other photos, too - very glad you enjoyed the U2 5/14.

Anyway, I was up towards the top of section 109 (hence my initial reluctance to bring the camera). And to answer some earlier questions - I use a Panasonic DMC-FZ15... I'm very happy with it! And yeah, it's all about finding the right settings. The photos I have from the first half of the show are pretty lousy, just because I spent a while figuring out what settings would work best from my vantage point.

I will get some larger shots posted here if that's okay, especially the ones that jbarry5503 requested.

Thanks, everyone, for the nice comments and messages.

Hey everyone....thanks for all the great pics and videos....it was a pleasure to work with all of you, the Sign Gang! A surreal experience....and we pulled it off!

I'm listening to Abbey Road right now and crying... the music, the signs, the totally awesome experience, the great great fans...I love you all!

I have to add my thank you for the pictures everyone posted, plus videos and audios! You guys ROCK!

heres my video of Fix You and the chris stripping incident.. im kinda far.. (section 108) so u cant really see the guys taht well.. but i think its worth the dl :)

Would like to thank all who posted pics, I was in a party box #223 off to the left side so did not get to see the video screen along the back of the stage or the guys with the ripped signs at the end of the show, knew it had to say something good because of the roar from everyone in the crowd. Had a great time!!
