Did you mean Black Mountain? I'm assuming you did...in which case, I totally agree with you.

They opened for Coldplay back at Camden in August. And people all around me just booed and booed them. Pretty hilarious, actually.

Oh gawd, them. I was so anxious to see Coldplay, I couldn't stand listening to Black Mountain any longer. I was really bored when they opened here in Aug.

what kind of music is black mountain?

Never heard about them but they can't be worse than goldfrapp  or at least I hope so :stunned:

I thought Richard Ashcroft's set was great. My friends and I managed to meet him while we were having dinner hours before the concert. He's a nice guy.

Black Mountain was horrible when I saw them. I do not remember ANYTHING from their set, except for the fact that my friend and I left and ate pizza.

Ahaha :laugh4:

my problem was that I was in third row and couldn't move :disappointed: Coldplay read what I did for you...one hour of annoying goldfrapp

I thought he was AWESOME in Philly! Did a longer set than I expected, too. He's a little too politcal for my taste, but his songs are good (I think, anyway).

Anybody have the set he played for Philly?

Dave

I don't think anyone is seriously going to listen to a post like that.

I thought Richard was great too. My friends and I got to meet him a few hours before the concert. He's a really nice guy.

We were very impressed with Richard Ashcroft, but disappointed in some of the fans there who told him to "Shut Up".That was embarrassing...he did a very good set and is a good musician,I dont get how people didnt like him.

I guess you either love him or you hate him - I personally love him. Same with Chris Martin, people either love or hate him. Keys To The World is amazing and there are a lot more than just 2/3 good songs on it, I'd say about 10 :P

well done mate

In Cleveland, he had some pretty hard core fans on the floor and near the stage, and he played up to them. They would shout out songs and he would play them. Someone yelled "play all night!" and he apologized for not being able to. The very dedicated were standing the whole time and he sang it out right to them!

Very impressive opening act. I am a complete fan now. Loved his songs and loved his stage presence.

Out of the 4 opening acts this tour. I would put him right up there.

Black Mountain was not my taste. But I bopped along, seeing as I was front center on the rail in the pit. I just never saw their faces, too much hair!

Rilo Kiley was sooooo great. I loved them. And wish I had been closer. The outdoor venue was practically empty and I wanted to run down to sing along with Portions for Foxes and It's a Hit.

Fiona Apple was interesting, I listened more to her music after the fact and like it very much now. the live jazzy sound was intriguing.

I'm gonna see him playing a whole concert in a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to it. :) I love his music and he seems to be very nice as a person as well.

The arena was pretty empty when I saw his set in Connecticut. It was really upsetting. He's a wonderful musician and performer.

This whole thread summed up:

Verve good Richy bad.

^nope, I didn't say he was bad. :D

I was talking about the creator of the thread

oops, I did mean Black Mountain, thanks. And like others who have posted here, I had sort of blocked out how horrible Black Mountain were. One of the local Boston reviewers labled their sound " psychedelic noodle rock "

Don't know about that but I do know they were so loud it hurt my ears. I sent my BF off to buy me ear plugs just so I could survive with my ear drums intact for Coldplay!

Thought Richard Ashcroft was a good fit musically for the boys.

I agree! I was also embarrased...I thought he did a great job. I enjoyed listening to him, it made me go and download some of his songs. I wish I were near that asshole who shouted out Shut Up. I would have bitch slapped him for Richard! Pure rudeness it was! Im also sick and tired of people complaining about Chris's voice! My god I give him alot of props for throwing a spectacular show with his voice condition. STOP YOUR WHINING! Christ I mean if it werent for the Philly doctor over here the show probably would have been canceled! Im grateful that he was able to be there and do an awesome job. It was my first CP show ever, and I would have been so bummed had he canceled the show.

Mustn't it be in a WoM section?....Or should we create just a thread for Rich?Cause the name of this thread makes me sick  I like his music :nice:
