Well I used to chat with one guy on board and then we met in real life....He was the same, just like he was on board...Funny and talkative. But since we met we've never been chatting anymore.

Well, I have friends online, but I've never met them in "real life" yet (speaking of which, holy shit Kelli you get yo bitch ass to Ireland LMFAO <3).

Ā

Erm, well all my school friends who I talk to online are basically exactly the same. We don't even tone down our language, half the time. I think I'm a lot less articulate in person, though... I have a lot of anxiety when around people in social settings, so I tend to close up. When I'm online, though, I don't have that issue. So I just talk and talk.

Ā

Ā

I'm much uglier in person, as well.:rockstar:

I think I'm sort of quiet around people in the real world because whenever I start to talk I end up saying words all wrong, since I have a little speech problem and then I feel stupid.

It's so much easier just typing!

my friends from real life that I talk to on msn are more or less exactly the same but I have never met anyone from the net in real life. I am almost the same if you meet me just a little more shy in the begining and my english would probably suck since I would be nervous :P

This is a very interesting topic for a thread... :nice:

Ā

1) Have you ever met someone online and met in person?

Yes, of course!! I met a friend of mine last year who I used to talk a lot who I know almost all of his secrets. I met other people, as well, that was a long time ago, maybe 4 or 5 years ago... I used to go to a general chat and one day we made an appointment; we dinner together and then we spent the afternoon too! It was pretty interesting!!!

Ā

2) and they acted completely different then they did online?

Completely different?? nooo, although they acted a bit different, at least in the beginning 'cause of the shyness... and I'm sure I acted a bit different too, but then, after spending some time and talking to them, you loose that absurd shyness :)

Ā

3) have friend you talk to online that act different in life?

Yes, one of my best uni's friend is quite different via msn than in person... she is very open - minded and used to talk a lot, but in msn she is not that cheerful! She seems to be another person there! :surprised:

I've met a few people from the online world offline.. the weird situation is that about a year ago.. when I waited all day to meet Interpol at a record signing.. I met a bunch of girls there.. and we bonded thru out the day.. I had no idea who they were, because at the time I wasn't a regular on the Interpol Message Board.. anyhoo.. it wasn't til after that day, once I knew who everyones name was on the board.. that we started talking more online.. in fact... one of those girls I still talk to... we've seen 3 shows together since.. and we've been friends for over a year now. I've spoken to a few peeps from the board on the phone.. and they're just as cool as I read..... I would hope they feel the same way about me.. :embarassed:

I hate people who talk to you online all the time but when you see them in person are too scared to say boo or hello or suppppp

Ā

haha :laugh3:

Ā

I'd say I'm a bit different since in person I am more of a observant person. I can't really help it... I tend to notice everything.. the shape of the face, your moments with your hands, your facial expressions.. I NOTICE EVERYTHING! :laugh3: , specially the hands and shoes:embarassed: (I like shoes!) How you act around someone else, the things you say...everything :laugh3: :embarassed: and well I can't really do that in the internet if I can't see you, but overall I'm the same.

ive met a few people over the internet and met up with them...all who have been different to what i had expected. for instance i met this guy named Richie who over the internet was a real ass and made you want to tell him where to go! however one day he came into my work and he was completely awesum and kind and not to mention very good looking! i was puzzled at first but when i had my lunchbreak with him i soon realised this ass was infact a really great guy!!

Ā

id like to think im the same on the net as i am in real life, though at times my brain tends to speak before actually thinking about it.

Yes. :D it's true. But it's not weird... for example, I talk very much on messengers or forums, but in real life I speak not so much. In real life ppl are very shy, in the Internet they don't have to be...
