One year I went to Dallas on holiday in August. It was around 110F each day. I stayed at this cheap motel that faced the West. The doors opened to the outside of the hotel. I had to go buy an oven mitt because the doorknob was brass and heated up in the afternoon sun to the point that you couldn't touch it without sustaining a 3rd degree burn trying to get into your room.
