Random Coldplay thoughts...

Featured Replies

i had a dream last night that it was christmas day and in a spare minute i checked coldplay.com. and even though theyd already given us the xmas video...there was a NEW STAR telling us album info. it was like a video with them talking...i dont really remember it all that much but wouldnt that just be the best if by some freakish stroke of christmas luck things happened that way?! like an amazingly perfect bonus gift. ohhh god.

also, my friend stopped by a few minutes ago to give me my xmas present, part of which were FAIR TRADE chocolates! (she knows im quite into the whole MTF thing because of coldplay). it was quite nice.

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

i honestly re-discovered my love for coldplay.

i've been feeling very low for quite some time now and there's nothing that lifts me up as much as coldplay does.

just the music... or how they see the world.

really, it makes me sorta happy.

watched "Live 2003" for the bilionth time today and i've gotta say they're right about everything they say. ah yeah, i also watched that show from that special coldplay day on mtv years ago. so great.

love them all... chris, johnny, will and guy.

they're great people... and just make me go awwwww!

:nice:

coldplay is love.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Anyhoo: I keep having dreams that either Chris (or Matt Bellamy) are in my English class and it's kinda freaky cus like, it's all school and boring stuff and I look over and there is Chris...or Matt....

And then I wake up to find myself in a very untidy bedroom with a cat destroying the window blinds...:dozey:

i got the radiohead documentary meeing people is easyfor xmas, and after watching it, ive realized that its whole style is quite similar to the live 2003 tour diary. i mean, live 2003 is more...visually coherent and easier to follow and all, but i wonder if the similarities were intentional. it's kind of freaky, to me anyway. even though the feel is different (MPIE is really a downer while L2003 is quite happy and uplifting and cute), the styles are almost right on.

Is the Radiohead one in grayscale and it features them on a breakfast show at 9am?? :P

haha, no breakfast show, but it IS in greyscale and it has a lot of similar type shots of the cities passing them by and various interviews and them in cars etc. and random snippets of stuff from TV broadcasts or whatever. the radiohead one was much more...out-there, but the similarities hit me right away.

It's kind of sunny out right now.

The sun made me think of summer.

Summer makes me think of concerts.

Concerts make me think of Coldplay.

So I kind of made a squeal when I saw the sun.

this made my day :nice:

I'm in such a Coldplay mood today! I've been feeling really blue today, and Coldplay really made me feel better again. Thanks Coldplay! :P

yeah, that's the thing about coldplay... they neither make happy nor sad music. they make music that just builds you up and comforts you and.. dunno. so hard to explain.

it's something that happens.

It's like soul food....but in music form. And I'm grateful for it. :nice:

^^aren't they just great at that? before coldplay, nothing was ever really able to make much of a difference in my moods except the thing i was upset about actually changing. even for a while after falling in love with coldplay i didnt believe that even they could make much of a difference, but one day i tried it and it was incredible. live 2003 (particularly the tour diary) really does the trick for me...i get distracted with how adorable they all are in addition to the incredibly uplifting music.

aaaaaand i still come to this thread way too much

yeah, that tour diary...

just shows how they actually see the world and how they behave and that there's so much more than sadness and... you know.

as chris mentioned... every time he feels bad he thinks of the people he met in africa and all that.

we all know what it's like in other parts of the world, but still we complain about our lousy crap that's not even important.

^^

That's right..

sometimes i have fights with my parenta about stuff that they don't buy to me..

and then I realized that It's just.. .stuff you know..

definitely.

even those problems that really seem to get us (love, hate, all that kinda crap)... they're sooo small compared to other people's problems. like ... they need to worry how to feed their children and all that and we just shove all that junk into our faces.

So freakin' true...

I saw a review of Mark Ronsons new 'cover album' Various or something...it mentioned Coldplay and for some reason when someone (who's a reviewer) doesn't write crap about Coldplay, I get all excited...

It's funny how I'm always thinking "What would I do if I saw Coldplay walking straight towards me on the street? Would I run? Keep walking? Or pretend to fall over and a make a big scene to get their attention??"

:P

Don't worry, your first few posts will always be confused ones, I can gurantee,...seeing as I was new here only two months ago...

definitely.

hey Grace, i like the way you think, it prooves that you have a big heart and don't take yourself too seriously. but let me say that if any of those poor people would have been born in 'our world' they would also suffer from hate, love, things that they want but don't get, and all debilities of human kinds. so if someone "rich" suffers it's the same feeling like when someone "poor" suffers. misery doesn't depend on outer circumstances it depends on our mind...

though i slipped out of subject this is what i would lovelovelove to let mr. martin know too. :\

(i love this from 'fix you': when you get what you want but not what you need.)

whats the easyest way to see what ive read and what i havent?

Stuff that's in bold is usually unread and suff with a tick next to it (sometimes) will be something you've posted in. Have fun here but if you have any questions take it to the Coldplaying.com section of this forum as this thread is for 'Random Coldplay Thoughs" ;)

haha. thanks anyway!

(ah, you're form germany ^^ which part exactly?)

whatsoever.

my mum's from the philippines and i've been there this year for the probable 5th time and i was so shocked by the conditions there. it's gotten worse! and i know how people feel there.

the thing is that i really wasn't prepared to live there under such conditions for three whole weeks and i really did make a fuss about it. i cried and cried (the very first day!) and i hated myself for that because i know a part of my family lives there and i was just acting like a big fucking asshole. you cannot imagine what it was like...really. it was tough and i wanted to go back home the minute i got there. it's so hard to understand for someone who's from a western country who is used to running water.

ahh... but that time of the year made me think. it was supposed to be my vacation, but tbh those were the worst three weeks of this year. i'm so sorry to say so because it's part of my culture and all that, but i just cannot identify with it.

well, it made me think, though. and it made me appreciate life so much more. like... if i go shopping and i find a cute skirt or something and they don't have my size i wouldn't start to be angry or question my luck. lol. i'd just think to myself that i'm supposed to be grateful that i've got a house without any insects or lizards living in there...

what i wanted to say is that those weeks decisively influnced me. i don't mind how people appreciate their life or their luck because it's up to them and i do not wanna tell them what to do.

i decided it for myself.

omg.

i talk so much random b*shit it's ridiculous.

hahaha.

but it definitely is linked to coldplay... somehow.

okay, let's say that i listened to coldplay a lot thoughout those three weeks to keep the topic alive. :laugh3:

Talk was on the radio. Weeeeeeeird. At least here in Michigan.

Speed of Sound has been played a few times lately, maybe the radio guys know about LP4 and are just trying to agonise us...

i got an HDTV for christmas, so two nights ago i plugged my ipod into it for the first time and watched all my coldplay videos in HIGH-DEF. it was strange, but it was almost like they were brand-new again. "speed of sound" in HD was particularly amazing.
