Random Coldplay thoughts...

I'm not a paranoid fan-girl. But I'd really love to hear their voices in real. So that's why I'd say "Good morning, gentlemen" Pictures? I don't think, they'd agree for that

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

because i have a lot of time on my hands these days, ive thought out what id do if i saw them on the street. because i AM a paranoid fan-girl, and if i really let myself go id be one of those shreiky annoying ones, i told myself that if i ever see them in an everyday situation, id keep my cool as best as i could and just say "thank you for the music" or something to that extent. THEN i would snap as many photos as i could from a bit of a distance, preferably without them knowing. i really dont want to piss them off...

ok, so this is probably going to be semi-long, but it was a hilarious coldplay moment for me today:

i was driving home after work, blasting AROBTTH. "the scientist" was on and i was singing along, blah blah blah. it came to the line "coming up tails/heads on a silence apart" and for the first time in my ENTIRE COLDPLAY LIFE i understood that line! before ive always thought it was a bit of an odd line; i never got what "coming up tails" meant and thought maybe chris just messed up singing the line "chasing our tails" like that's sung later on and they didnt think it was worth re-doing the [AMAZING] vocals just for that one flub.

but today, it just hit me that the "TAILS" in that line is related to the "HEADS" in the next...it's a COIN!! a freaking coin. my god. i just cracked up laughing while driving, but then i made myself shut up so i wouldnt miss the rest of the song.

ive really been a complete thickhead recently.

so that got me thinking about what the line meant, and in a nutshell, i think the chris-character and the girl-character in the song are so hopeless about their relationship that they flip a coin to decide whether to stay together or not, and heads is "a silence apart". but the coin "came up tails" (which means trying to work it out) and given other lines in the song, i think the chris-character is secretly happy about that and really wants to "go back to the start" and give it another go becuase he really really loves her.

so, in short, im recently stupid, have too much time on my hands, and am crazy. :wacky:

I always have this scene play out in my head where I would be on the beach and my (ex)friend and I would spot them walking along. I would yell "OMG! I love your music, you guys rock!" and then my (ex)friend would yell "She is your No.1 fan! She doesn't stop talking about you, especially the singer and the lead guitarist!" and then I would laugh and say to her, "OMG! You actually said that!"

I think the scene ends with Chris and Jonny giving us a thumbs up.:laugh3:

ANyway, I was listening to the radio one day, Glamerous was on (:\) and I was thinking, 'more lame songs are about to come on the radio' and then Speed of Sound came on, I nearly died of shock. I couldn't help singing along!

i had the geekiest coldplay (chris) dream last night.

for some reason, chris was at our school playing a song in chapel, and after chapel was lunch. somehow one of my friends told chris who i was and arranged for me to eat lunch with him, so at the beginning of lunch, CHRIS came up to me and asked if i would like to eat lunch with him. so i did. we just chatted or whatever, but now im just impressed with how realistically and exactly my dreaming brain portrayed chris--he was exact down to the last bit of stubble. shows how much time i spend looking at him!

but i was kind of disappointed in the dream that i didnt have time to ask some of my questions, namely "what coldplay song are you most proud of over all others?" i think i would have even liked to know what dream-chris's answer to that would have been.

I had a dream a long time ago that I was eating dinner with Coldplay (mainly Chris but they were all there). I remember Chris had his hair long and curly and his face was remarkably in detail, Guy and Jonny looked normal, but I don't think Jonny had a moustache.

Anyway, we were sitting at a table and Jonny and Guy we sitting across from me, they open this book thing and it had all the new song names on it, they were blury but I made out that one of the songs started with 'E', but now that I think about it, that one wasn't a new song, it was my brain tricking me into thinking the words 'Everythings not lost' was the title of a new song.

Then Chris and I started chatting, we talked about my obsession with the Sims 2 (Chris; What is the Sims 2? Me: A life simulator Chris: Wow!) and then the Seasame Street Character Elmo and the dream ended there.

That has to be one of my favourite dreams!

i was babysitting tonight and one of the girls i babysit was trying her damndest to play "heart and soul" on the piano. in a moment where she was working it out, i absently started playing "clocks." she looked at me in surprise and said "oh my god, you know how to play that 'do-do-do-do-do' song?" and then all night she was telling her brothers and sisters that i can play that song that's on the radio all the time. it was quite hilarious, because she's 9. i plan to play them more coldplay when i go back on monday ;)

^ recruiting little Coldplay fans are you?:laugh3:

Thats it, get them while they're young:P

do-do-do-do-do song:laugh3: well done!!!

while watching "shiver" last night (favorite video along with "the scientist"), i noticed that chris is not wearing shoes in the video. his black parachutes-era hiking boot things are next to him on the floor, and he's just wearing socks.

i find that funny. i love little things like that.

hows that for a RANDOM coldplay thought?? :laugh3:

just had dinner with a friend and was telling her to "Clear out your schedule for next year because we are going to see CP live after the album comes out!" and then I come home 10 minutes later to Mandy telling me about this new video posted. NEARLY FELL OFF THE CHAIR. I just had a feeling!

The other day, I subconsciously started singing Yellow only replacing 'stars' with 'clouds' (it was a cloudy day) and replacing 'shine' with 'float'. Oh and 'Yellow' with 'Cloudy'

"Look at the clouds, look how they float for you, cus they were all cloudy" :\

Anyway, my friend who was walking beside me said 'Is that really a song?" and I was like, 'Yeah, one of the best songs around!'

He just looked at me weird, but then I was like 'Well, some of the words are different', but he wouldn't believe me.

Then in ART later that day, we had to do artsy things (:laugh3:) using crayons/pastils. We were told to choose our colours carefully. I was drawing my artsy thing when someone mentioned wanting to use the colour 'Yellow' and again, I subconsciously sang 'cus it was all yellow'

Why is "A Message" played so much in stores?

I've heard it in a bunch of different stores over the past month or two--and it's always A Message! It's strange, but I like it! Haha.

It's one of those nice store songs....

Look if you ever hear Coldplay played in an elevator....something is very very very very wrong!

my brother just came into my room shyly and said "i need some music." i said "what kind of music?" and he looked all embarrassed and said "ok, you can't tell anyone, this cant get out."

and i got all excited and said "YOU WANT SOME COLDPLAY MUSIC, DON'T YOU?!"

he did! he asked for all of AROBTTH, "fix you," and "shiver." so i cant tell his friends because "coldplay is for homos" according to him, but it made my day.

HAHAHAHA, we may soon have a new coldplay convert. i think this sudden interest is from forcing him to listen to coldplay in my car the other day. i should drive him around more often!

I was watching a cable channel here in the US called the USA Network and it had a commercial that asked what vegetarian celebrities do on thanksgiving (a US holiday when everyone usually eats turkey) and they said something like, what do gwyneth paltrow and chris martin have on their dinner table, and when they said that, they showed a pic of gwyn on the red carpet at the oscars, and a pic of jonny buckland at the grammys! :laugh3: :\ :\ it made me laugh and shake my head at their cluelessness...

Good for you..

bad badddd for your brother..

hahahaha

today i was flipping through an entertainment magazine and there was a blurb about actors that marry musicians. of course gwyneth and chris were featured. basically there was a tiny picture and it said theyd been married since 2003 and have 2 kids, but the gwyneth quote was rather disturbing:

"if we decide to continue being together or not, its our business."

im not jumping to any conclusions or anything, but i havent heard such a depressing quote from either of them on the subject before.

on the brother front, he proceeded to tell me that every song on radiohead's "in rainbows" (which i also gave him) "totally suck," but he neglected to say anything about the coldplay tracks. which probably means he likes them :sneaky:

The other day, my brother and I were boredly sitting around and he grabbed his guitar and started playing the acoustic chords to God Put a Smile. I was at my piano and simply said 'I can't count how many times I've heard that'

I started playing the chords aswell and it felt like we were actually in a band, and it was pretty cool.

Everytime my brother and I start talking about Coldplay, I get really excited. Like this time we were at the piano and he was telling about his favourite guitar solo, he said it was the bit were Jonny comes in in 'A Message' (Well he said Track 8 and I was like, that one is called, a message). He called Jonny plain Jon and I was seriously about to scream 'It's Jonny, not Jon' (even though Jon is perfectly acceptable)

Its so nice to share your love for a band with someone who actually lives in the smae house as you (no offense to you but seriously, you're halfway around the world frim me!)

I miss Coldplay.

I watched their Planet Rock profile (from 2001 - so young!) and Loaded yesterday and it was like I was seeing a good old friends again. Ahhh...

i heard speed of sound come on the radio at work today. thats pretty unmiraculous in itself but the nurses keep the radio really quiet and i was across the room from it, and yet i could still tell exactly what song it was even though im hearing impaired! i also had a pretty bad day, so it was great to hear.

I went shopping, and in Matalan; Have yourself a merry little christmas started playing. it was funny coz as soon as i heard the first piano note, i just stopped walking and my heart started beating really fast

and in another shop, they played the original version __x

That would be great!

Any member of my family likes Coldplay my parents don't know anything at all about music in English..

and my brother hates them

but I don't care..

cause When I hear Coldplay I'm in my own world.. by myself :)

but I don't care..

Same.

One time, I was talking too my friends and one of them said 'Arg, I have an I-pod and I can't put any music on it cus the internet is down, I only have crappy CDs like X&Y...' and then one of my fieinds who knows how much I love Coldplay said 'EJ, you're in for it now'...But I don't think I'm the type to bash someone's head in so I just said 'Don't worry, I get it a lot' and then my friend was like 'I know, but Coldplay do suck'...

All you can do is laugh it off, but even though I knew they had both never heard Coldplay (exept maybe Yellow, Clocks and Trouble), it still annoyed me a bit and I did want to yell 'Well, if you actually listened to them, you might like them, they aren't any worse than Rihanna or Fergie!" But that would have been weird. Ah well, I still have Bebe, and she loves Coldplay too..

my friends and i were bored and came across a random video on youtube that's just a bunch of funny animal videos mashed together. but "speed of sound" and "talk" are the background songs! it was hilariously random, and i have no idea why those songs were there because they had nothing to do with anything, but it was still nice to hear.
