Has this become more serious!?

Yeah, I used to be like that, before I got old and bitter haha.

But really, the threads dedicated to people, I never used to mind, I had one and embraced it at the time, but now it clogs the forum.

Its hard to make a thread, you have to put a lot of thought into it sometimes, and when your thread gets pushed onto the 2nd page by a load of CRAP on the 1st, then it begins to get to you (I think Julia, Nik, Maia, and others can relate to this).

Simply enough, most people dont click on the 2nd page, so whatever is on the 1st page gets replies, and the 2nd page gets forgotten.

But one more point, I dont really mind if people are talking crap about how they are in a serious thread. As long as it limits itself a bit, if it goes off in that direction for anything more then 4 or 5 posts, that should be a yellow card.

But if these replies are "OMG HIIII PINGU HOW ARE YOU?"

Do you want them?

:P I check the 2nd page cause I check for all new posts in Lounge. I'll bump some of yours (whilst keeping in topic of course) if I see any around there :P

Edit: Why do I call you Pingu? I know you're Reilly in disguise... :o

Yeah, you might do, I do as well but most others dont. Or some people may feel like they are dragging up old news, I feel like that sometimes. If a thread is on the 2nd or 3rd page it feels like everythings been discussed, when most likey people havent seen enough of it.

Im ok with it, it doesnt ruin my world. As long as the original topic is still there to be seen, other replies may be as interesting. I dont mind mulling through a bit of crap, its a part of the casual feel we used to have.

The origional topic is always there to be seen though. The problem I have is that more often than not the topics I read are ones where people share their opinions.

Now me personally. I want to read those opinions and I'm not on here as often as I could be so it's often a 5 page thread by then. Now I'd read through them but by page 2 I end up seeing 10 posts about Bryan's social life and I don't wanna have to read through that.

It's funny this thread has come up cause it happened to me just last night and I was pissed off about it then :P

I just don't know how to quit you :anxious:

Yes....so I read all this now...and reilly said the thing with "lighthearted" and that is what the impression for me was....

maybe it was just more "lighthearted"...

I also think there are more groupings going on now, whereas before there was just a big group, a family.

I don't know.. i'm here since like a year ago....and i know some people.. but not all people so I guess there is not just one big group.. I haven't talked to a lot of members.. even in the lounge (and I'm always here) anyway.. I feel great here...

I agree, Reilly....instead of sole threads dedicated to someone, its a group thread.

And its the same people talking to the same people.

But, in fairness....how do you get to know new people here?

Its fairly daunting for new people to see all these threads....

I guess that's also because not a many members discuss topics... anyway in 20,000 members you can't expect that besides Coldplay everybody likes the same stuff and discuss about the sames things...

I think there must be a reason why the board has sections and then threads...

haha this is almost exactly the same as recent discussions on the main board. A fact that proves neither forum is any better than the other

personally I don't like coldplay.com forum...

so, this is so much better for me!

The whole forum's getting like this.

Seriously, ever taken a peek at the Guy picture thread in the Coldplay section.... :stunned: 25,000 posts and probably 100 pictures.... Holy crap. It drives me so fucking insane I've given up on the whole damn thing.

I always scroll over the personal threads and try to find the interesting ones where I get to think and write and be myself on. I get to learn stuff about other people as well, which is mainly why I stick around here. But a lot of times I find myself writing an opinion and, like I think it was Reilly mentioned before, it's just never replied to... And I feel a little miffed because hell, I like to discuss and not talk to MYSELF. :( I'm an attention whore, GODDAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK AT ME! *STAMPS FOOT!!!!*

I want to make a stupid thread, but I'm afraid people will think it's stupid and I'll just end up being a big dumb hypocrit. But it can't be stupider than some of the things I've seen posted on here.... :uhoh:

I understand your concern there Danielle.

We're all a bit attention seeking, its natural. Its simply just wanting to be a bit noticed, like the time you spend on here is at least acknowledged, that something you wrote was in some way interesting or funny or useful, it feels good.

I dont understand these people who go into the Random Word thread, write "Goat" and basically it could have never happened and it makes absolutely no difference to anything. "BUT ITS FUN!" people say, is it really?

If thats fun, haha, then christ, I dont know (My worst sentence ever written but I mean it)

I like your new thread Danielle, we all need to let loose a little. I dont mean to whine about it again but when I sometimes try it, people are so fucking negative that it totally ruins the random vibe.

Let me re-phrase that, casual vibe.

I don't get that either. The only time it was fun was when I came on here after having a little bit to drink, posted with some weird words that I didn't even knew existed. That was the only time it was mildly interesting to me, and that was the next morning. LMFAO

Thanks Reilly. I was worried people would actually take it TOO seriously! But I needed to do something stupid that may amuse people, but not to a pathetic extent.... Or something. I think that threads that ask questions are good, but they don't REALLY let people get to know each other and socialize. The only way to do that is make something with a sort of random subject and let people take it from there. It seems to me that that's what the lounge sort of used to be...

Yeah! The way you wrote 'socialise' and stuff, makes sense

Hahaha I'm pretty high.

I also think there are more groupings going on now' date=' whereas before there was just a big group, a family.[/quote']

Groupings?...In lounge?...I thought you've always been like that, guys.I mean, when I see a few people chatting with each other only, I thought that's how it was a few years ago and now it's the same...Anyway, I really think it doesn't change anything.I mean, we're talking here about board, changings on it, but nothing will change because of it.People are free, you can't just make everybody post what you wanna them post.So maybe it's a bit pointless.

i clicked page 251 and saw:

"wank diary"

"mmmm marmalite"

and

"the way of the sword"

so I probably agree

sounds like some of those threads need to be bumped!!!! LMFAO

WHere's that MC_Squared fella wen you need him?

Serious......

You are so

serious............

I personally dislike threads that remind me of things I know I have to work it out..........

ohhhhhhh we can work it out :earmuffs:

I prefer funny/random/welcoming threads :nice:

How modest you are.
