How Many Roads Must A Man Walk Down?

Featured Replies

OK, how old do you think someone has to be before you can call them an adult. Obviously it varies greatly between different people, some people act like children at 30 years old for example.

How old do you think you will be when you are able to call yourself an adult?

Can you call yourself an adult now?

I thought the other one would be the one to first say that, but please don't say anythin like that, it isn't funny

18...or whatever the age of majority is in the country in question

You are so friggen robotic!

The question is a personal one, that involves, believe it or not, YOU. Not the legality of when you are officialy an adult.

This isnt your question thread, go back to that if you want to answer robotically.

To me, I'm just beginning to become an adult. Im finding myself in different ways, being a responsible person in many ways I wasnt a year ago (When I was 18).

I'm 19 now and building the blocks to adulthood, hopefully I'll be there within the next 2/3 years.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

The other one.

Characters are so predictable on here these days.

I answered the question as I saw it. Nothing robotic in it. There's no need to get hostile. You can spout on about all this finding yourself spiritual crap but at the end of it, you're an adult when you're old enough to have adult responsibility.

The fact that you decided to jump up my ass merely shows your immaturity

or would you like to keep a few shards of adolescence in you for those next 2/3 years?

OK, you've answered the question, you can go.

I already consider myself an adult, and have done since I was 18. I have debt, I'm in further education, and in a few months I'll have a decent job. I could have considered myself an adult at 16 because I was sure as hell mature enough, but having said that to a bank who only offers loans to over 18s would have led to ridicule

Whenever you can function totally, based on your own free thought and mature decisions.

I think, on that basis, I'm an adult. I certainly can walk around New York City alone. Not like that means much? LMFAO

Sometimes maturity is speaking your mind, and to speak my mind, I think your being a robotic awkward asshole.

You are judging the age that one is an official adult by something your government had decided for you (18 being the age of official adulthood).

Good luck, you'll need it. At least you have all the answers written for you.

You can do that at about 12 years old, it doesn't make you an adult.

It's when you can operate a washing machine without asking for assistance!!

I think I may become an adult sooner than most, I seem to be out-maturing my friends by a fair bit lately.

Hmm perhaps the fact that I'm a law student has something to do with it. Perhaps also the fact that I don't believe in all this "finding myself" nonsense which I see merely as a way of delaying actually making mature decisions myself. As I said before, you can deny that you're an adult at 28 if you want, basing it on the fact that you still live at home and your Mum cooks all your meals, yet you're still an adult

You can do that at about 12 years old' date=' it doesn't make you an adult.[/quote']

Well, I mean... making independent decisions that don't end up in you being dead. I don't know, I can't articulate myself tonight.

I will give you that, at a certain point, you are naturally an adult. I think it happens around 24, when it just becomes ridiculous to still be seen as a kid.

But this topic deals with that, what we see as a kid. This isnt wikipedia, if he wanted an answer like the one you gave, we have a Google search engine that is much more powerful then you (believe it or not)

I know some people who are still living as kids, at the age of 23, under the guidance of their parents. They may drive, they may screw or go out and get drunk, but they are still kids in my mind.

haha well fair enough then I guess. I could be more picky, but I don't want to seem "robotic"

Well to give a perfectly unrobotic response, my naive friend. That's bollocks

WHEE CAPS WHEEEEEEEE hahaha

I am always going to be a child.

Damn right Sam.

Basically, Seans response was very patronising, so is his attitude. My immaturity in doing things such as calling him an asshole is an attempt to bring him down to my level, but hes obviously way above that.

Asshole.

Yes. You've successfully agreed that I'm above you. Nice one. I really don't understand the hostility that's arisen from a pretty harmless discussion. There was really no need on yours, or Rundle's part to bite at me.
