Liam Gallagher: 'Arctic Monkeys Make Me Feel Awkward'

 

 

Liam Gallagher says that the Arctic Monkeys make him feel “awkward.”

 

Although the 38-year-old things they’re a decent band, he’s put off by how young the teenagers are.

 

Speaking about Alex Turner, he told Q Magazine: “I like him, I do, and he is definitely a bit of a genius lyricist, but he is still a kid.

 

“He was eight when ‘Definitely Maybe’ came out. What the fuck am I, a 38-year-old supposed to say to that? They make me feel awkward.”

 

In the candid interview, Liam also lamented about how Oasis aren’t quite the force they used to be, adding “What bothers me right now is that we are not the biggest band in the world any more.

 

“U2, The Stones even Coldplay are bigger than us.

 

Erm, it would help if you wrote some decent tunes Liam.

No matter if he's nice or a bastard as always, I just adore this man ^^ He doesn't look like 38, he's even hotter than he was 10 years ago - and his voice is still awesome, maybe even better than at the start of Oasis.. I don't care whether Liam rips off Coldplay or says how much he loves them, I guess you can never know what he really means ;)

Well, everyone knows that Oasis are Coldplay fans.. Especially Noel is a friend of Chris, they've done lots of stuff together.. I think Liam just had fun ripping off Coldplay and "plant pot" Chris from time to time ;)

You know what I just realized?? On the internet it says everywhere that Liam was born in 1972, so he should be 34 by now.. Noel is 38 ! They must have got something wrong.. Maybe it was even Noel who said that and not Liam, because even in the quote it says "38 years old" .. Weird ^^

I went to a Oasis gig at the end of February and when Liam noticed that I was filming him, he came closer to the camera, putting on a bad-boy-face and grabbing his cock, it was hilarious ^^

Just because they don't get as much attention these day as they should, they're still great in my opinion. I think their just as good as U2 and Coldplay. Noel Gallagher writtin and still writting some of the best songs of all time. Liam Gallagher makes alot of good songs these days too.

^ I agree. I think Oasis are LEGENDS - I actually discovered their music AFTER discovering Coldplay, although Oasis exist much longer than Coldplay. But well, I actually just got into Oasis a few months ago and they totally got me at their gig in Vienna - right afterwards I went to a record store and bought every single album I could get, they're just awesome.. Especially Noel is a nice bloke I guess, and Liam is just hilarious making his jokes and rude comments ^^
