January 23, 201115 yr Ooh, I can see liverpool-based people complaining about a couple of those jokes.
January 23, 201115 yr That was a brilliant first episode of the new series from Top Gear. I thought the series last summer was brilliant which erased doubts where I thought the show was going downhill and if todays episode is anything to go by it will continue to be tip top tv entertainment! Loved the "race" between the Porsche and the Beetle dropped from a mile above the sky. And John Bishop - wow!
January 23, 201115 yr The BMW S1000RR and Ariel Atom was such a close race:o, I've really had enough of Richard Hammond going on about the Porsche 911 too, it isn't that nice a car, it's ugly, bland and always driven by 40+ year old guys who buy it because they have money but no taste.

January 30, 201115 yr I missed around 20 minutes  and Yes I'm sure there will be complaints as usual .
February 1, 201115 yr Yeah , I was just listening to the radio here in mexico and some were complaining and asking for a public apology by the BBC
February 2, 201115 yr Mexican ambassador complains to BBC over Top Gear jibes The Mexican ambassador in London has made a formal complaint to the BBC, after Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond described Mexicans as “lazy, feckless, flatulent and overweight” - and James May added that they eat “refried sick”. Ambassador Eduardo Medina-Mora Icaza has demanded an apology over Sunday’s episode, which featured the remarks in a review of the Mexican sports car, the Mastretta. “The presenters of the programme resorted to outrageous, vulgar and inexcusable insults to stir bigoted feelings against the Mexican people, their culture as well as their official representative in the United Kingdom,” said the ambassador’s letter. “These offensive, xenophobic and humiliating remarks serve only to reinforce negative stereotypes and perpetuate prejudice against Mexico and its people.” He continued: “Although casual banter is an essential component of the programme’s appeal, humour never justifies xenophobia. It is not a matter of taste but of basic principles.” Clarkson said during the item that no complaint would be made about the comments because the Mexican ambassador would “be sitting there with a remote control like this”. Clarkson then pretended to slump in a chair, snoring. Top Gear is one of the BBC’s most successful but also most controversial shows. Clarkson apologised in 2009 for calling then-prime minister Gordon Brown a “one-eyed Scottish idiot”. Hundreds of viewers complained in 2008 when Clarkson made a joke about lorry drivers murdering prostitutes in the wake of the Ipswich murders. A BBC spokesman said: “We have received a letter from the Mexican ambassador, and shall respond to him directly.”
