Pissed? I'm laughing at you, not pissed. He's not my precious Kurt. I just think he's one of the greatest musicians of my lifetime. I don't get pissed that people have a different opinion than me. It would also be incredibly stupid of me to get pissed over someone's opinion on an internet message board.

I'm making these statements to you because I think you are very childish...and not because you don't like Kurt.

The fact that you're calling Kurt one of the 'greatest musicians of your lifetime' shows your own childishness. What did he do? Scream..Release one big time success album(No, the others aren't. The only album most people know is Nevermind...and even that is hugely over-rated.)

On the good side. Yes,, during the early 90's Kurt offered teenagers an alternative. He brought grunge into the main stream. For that, he should be credited. But in no way...is he a legend. In no way, is he one of the greats. Lennon, McCartney, Bono, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen...yes. Kurt Cobain?....No.

He did not committ suicide. That's what they want you to think.

Haha, who the heck is "they"?

The Government? The FBI? Jack Bauer? :uhoh:

Then how'd he die? Or did the FBI kill him?

I don't believe these things. It's like people saying Jim Morrison was killed by his girlfriend Pam. Now, I did think about that. However, listening to the Doors' lyrics I can hear that Jim had such an obsession with death it was only a matter of time before he did himself in. People also argue that John Lennon was shot by Chapman because Chapman was an agent of Nixon's, who hated Lennon. I don't believe that either. It's just too... speculative. I've come to the conclusion that I believe Cobain killed himself, but I don't know enough about the subject to speak as an expert (and if anyone does, then direct me to them).

Yes, my opinion makes me completely childish. Not my threads...

Do you even have a high school education yet?

LMFAO JACK BAUER! What the hell!

Press.

I also agree that Jim Morrison is a legend.

Michael Stipe, um no.

Oh please! Fair enough...you dont think Michael Stipe is a legend...right. But you have the cheek to call Kurt Cobain a legend? Michael Stipe is ten times a legend than Kurt. His work is consitently proven over 25 years. Kurt...what...all of 4 years? Grow up!

Yes Kurt. I can't, I'm too old.

Judging by your little...'I love Kurt' comments, I'm guessing you're only going in to High School. You're probably Bam Magera and Green Days number 1 fan as well! Good luck to ya. You'll soon learn.

What exactly did Kurt Cobain do to be a "legend?"

Someone please enlighten me. :uhoh:

If you are not a fan, then I wouldn't suggest reading the book.

No sweetie, I'm 27 years old with two children and a husband. I am an accountant.

And how old are you?

Press.

Ah, ok. I think I see what you're saying. So, the press reactions toward Cobain led him to kill himself, which was not LITERALLY him killing himself, but the press figuratively killing him?

But you do think that he pulled the trigger and aimed the barrel at his head, no? Hate to break it to you, but no matter what or who leads someone to suicide, that's still what it is.

What exactly did Kurt Cobain do to be a "legend?"

Someone please enlighten me. :uhoh:

He basically changed the entire musical scene in the early 90's.

Fair for you to think that. I don't agree at all. Again, read the book if you are that interested. If not, there's not point in arguing.

He topped himself after making one successful album. duh

Nirvana were the 90's along side Radiohead. Without either of them the 90's would have been full of shit music like what's in the charts today like The Artic Monkeys and Fall Out Boy for example but i could go on.

Fall Out Ball

I actually might check it outk, thanks so much for the link! (and I'm not being sarcastic, I'm serious!):)

Hahaha wicked.

But Kurt being a legend surely cannot be because he accidentally changed a generation of music. Nirvana were lucky, they were right for the place of most intriguing band. There were lots of bands that were similar and possibly bands that could've easily stole that limelight, but Kurt and Nirvana were fortunate.

Besides, without Novaselic they would have been just another punk band. No really, thats the direction they surely would have went, but Krist (however its spelt) put a more mellow vibe to it that gave a real depth, and thus Grunge was born.
