June 15, 200620 yr The results were the important thing' date=' of course - and of course we will see if Germany can play any better, although I very much doubt it. I think they've already peaked!!;)[/quote'] yep, we'll see :nice: england - germany would be a nice...ähm...*achtelfinale*, though :drunk:
June 15, 200620 yr Ok...so I should also leave it to my own personal opinion!:nice: I just mean that if you had any real understanding of the "game", you would know there was a big difference between what happened against Paraguay (admittedly a poor performance, especially in the second half) and today. When a team just puts 11 players behind the ball and don't do anything to actively WIN the match, it often ruins the match as a spectacle. England deserved to win today because they were the only team TRYING to win, irrespective of the "performance". T&T might have got away with it, but in the end they DIDN'T. Football was the winner today.

June 15, 200620 yr I still believe that T&T deserved that goal. It was not off sides from what I saw. The fact that they managed to score that goal means that they were trying to win and therefore deserved at least 1 goal.
June 15, 200620 yr agree. Terry is great, i wouldn't say he is the best but one of the best for sure. however it's quite early to admit anything, we'll see who are the best so far after the 3rd matches yeah, Greece ahhhhh. don't even remind me. worst EC/WC winner ever... I agree. But as they won, you can't really criticise their tactics, can you? Otherwise you have to criticise the tactics of T&T and any other team that plays that way. The problem is that it doesn't make for entertaining viewing.
June 15, 200620 yr ^ I found it very entertaining how Shaka kept stoping every ball that came his way. Even more entertaining than the last 10 minutes.

The fact that they managed to score that goal means that they were trying to win and therefore deserved at least 1 goal. They only tried to break out and attack once it was too late. That doesn't count. They had nothing to lose by that stage.

June 15, 200620 yr no way..i dont think england deserve to win..sorry but its true..i mean..if they can play better....
June 15, 200620 yr ^ I found it very entertaining how Shaka kept stoping every ball that came his way. Even more entertaining than the last 10 minutes. You must have been watching a different match, because Shaka didn't make any stunning saves against England - there were only soft shots and misses before the goals came!;)
June 15, 200620 yr You know what I liked most about the game? When this player of T&T was beaten by the ball...and yeah he hurt his...
June 15, 200620 yr ^ Fine, I found it entertaining how Crouch and the rest of the english team kept missing.
June 15, 200620 yr Ok..I didn't see the match versus Paraguay..only some parts... and I didn't say England was the reason for the boring game..there are always two teams:wink: I only said I expected more by England! There are no "easy" matches in the World Cup. However, it's true that England can play much better than that.
June 15, 200620 yr All I could think of during most of the game was that England should put Gamarra in.
June 15, 200620 yr You know what I liked most about the game? When this player of T&T was beaten by the ball...and yeah he hurt his... That was Dwight Yorke, and that was very funny!!:P He was the one who had a baby with Katie Price, so he obviously has NO taste in women at all!:P
June 15, 200620 yr All I could think of during most of the game was that England should put Gamarra in. :laugh3: Yeah this scene was really funny..my dad and me couldn't stop laughing!
June 15, 200620 yr All I could think of during most of the game was that England should put Gamarra in. You're obviously just making pointless random comments with no clue what's going on. I suggest you quit while you're "behind"!!:P
June 15, 200620 yr :laugh3: Yeah this scene was really funny..my dad and me couldn't stop laughing! What are you talking about, you silly sausage?:P

T&T was very close to play 0-0 today
June 15, 200620 yr You are telling me that T&T made the game less entartaining, but that is just not true. Even though they might have played a type of game that if it is played by a team with large amounts of talent could be considered less entertaining, the fact that they were tremendous underdogs and almost managed to hold one of the supposed best teams in teh world to a scoreless draw made it even better.

T&T was very close to play 0-0 today It's always the debate. Is it only the result that matters, or should the way you play also be entertaining? It's a tough call, but Greece bored me and I couldn't even be bothered to watch their matches...........................

And ALMOST isn't good enough!! When you sit back like that and only try for a draw, you're unlikely to ever win anything. Greece were the exception.
