England vs Germany' date=' that's something i'm looking forward [/quote']

With Rooney & Lennon in the side, we'll beat them - no problem!

I kinda wish John's goal had stood, it was pretty.

@mark: haha, don't be that sure! :nice:

considering what I've seen from england today (not talking about the last 10 minutes) they could be faaar better but aren't at the moment ;)

I agree that there's far more to come from England, which must be worrying for the other teams.

England have now won two matches without playing well in either of them, really, except for the final half an hour today.

On the other hand, I don't think Germany are capable of playing much better than they have already!:D

and wasn't offside...

Irrelevant. The game was over anyway.

but those guys deserved at least a goal, even if it wouldn't change anything ;)

They didn't deserve anything. There was only one team trying to play, and it wasn't T&T.

Check the stats (shots on goal, possession etc.) and you'll see!;)

well, if we take that their goal wasn't offside, they definitely deserved one.

stats are useless now, if we'll be honest England's football was quite poor, without Beckham it would stay 0-0. i'm sure they can play better ;)

This England game was boring.......they were lucky that they won 2:0 in the end!

I expected more......because of the things I heard about England...

You're missing the point. All T&T did was try to defend for 90 minutes and attempt to get a goal from a free-kick or corner. That's a very negative way to play, and therefore, if you lose, you have no grounds for complaint.

Beckham played pretty well, and so did the defence apart from Robinson, who missed a couple of crosses. Terry in particular was immense, and I thought Ashley Cole had a good game.

It was the midfield and attack that generally had a disappointing match until the last half an hour, when it all changed.

After Rooney and Lennon came on, it was only a matter of time before England scored.

You don't understand football, so that comment doesn't count for anything.;)

I have summed everything up in my previous post.

You should be more concerned about your own team, who might even lose to Ecuador!;)

^I hope your Kaff is now ready for the English invasion!!:P

with the players like in the TRI team you can't play attacking football against a team like England. their tactics was excellent if we consider Sweden and England couldn't score against them in the first 172 minutes of TRI's WC.

yes, with Rooney and Lennon the attack became better and more dangerous, but still 2 of 3 English goals this year were made by Becks. he runs a lot, makes passes and goal assists. i think he deserves to be the Cap. he is the best English player at this WC so far ;)

even if what you're saying could be true (I don't think so ;) ), germany played well enough to win twice, too. plus, we played far better than england so far, in my very honest and personal opinion :P ;)

I think so too....at least in yesterday's game...but Sarah if we say that...hello?

We don't know anything about football...so...

That's fair comment. I think Beckham has played well so far, which he didn't do four years ago. He appears to be back to his best.

John Terry is quite possibly the best defender in the tournament, though. His clearance off the goal-line today was fantastic.

I also agree that T&T don't have the players to play another way - it's a bit like Greece when they won Euro 2004.

All I'm saying is, if it works (as it did against Sweden), then you can say the tactics were justified.

If you lose using those tactics, however (as happened today), you can have no complaints as you didn't do anything to try to WIN the match.

That's the point.

hehe, sure mark wants to defend his own country, of course I understand that. therefore -as I've said- I leave it to my very own and personal opinion :laugh3: ;)

The results were the important thing, of course - and of course we will see if Germany can play any better, although I very much doubt it. I think they've already peaked!!;)

agree.

Terry is great, i wouldn't say he is the best but one of the best for sure. however it's quite early to admit anything, we'll see who are the best so far after the 3rd matches

yeah, Greece ahhhhh. don't even remind me. worst EC/WC winner ever...
