June 14, 200620 yr yeah, the first round is over and the 2nd is starting in 1 hour or something i have strange feelings to be honest, i really enjoyed some matches and some particular teams or rather players, but overally the first 16 matches disappointed me in the big part. though it was only the beginning and the rest/best is yet to come  Ondes Martenot's ratings: TOP 5 Matches: 1. Italy - Ghana 7.8/10 2. Argentina - Cote D'Ivoire 7.5/10 3. Brasil - Croatia 7/10 4. Germany - Costa Rica 6.5/10 5. Australia - Japan 6.3/10 Teams: 1. Czech Republic 8.5/10 2. Spain 8.2/10 3. Italy 8/10 4. Ecuador 7.3/10 5. Netherlands 7/10 Players: 1. Tomas Rosicky (CZE) 8.8/10 2. Arjen Robben (NED) 8.6/10 3. Shaka Hislop (TRI) 8.3/10 4. Xabi Alonso (SPA) 8/10 5. Kaka (BRA) 7.8/10
June 14, 200620 yr yes, it's true it was quite disappointing since they players didn't really show all their skills ...
June 14, 200620 yr I haven't seen most of the matches so I can't say a lot about that... but from what I've seen the teams that I liked the most so far were: 1- Czech Republic 2- Italy 3- Netherlands 4- Spain 5- Australia
June 15, 200620 yr best 5 out of 32 for me: 1- Spain 2- Ecuador (they really surprised me) 3- The Netherlands 4- Czech Republic 5- Italy
June 15, 200620 yr cinco de los mejores equipos España Repubica de cheqa Holanda Alemán y Inglaterra VAMOS England Come on England !!
June 16, 200620 yr Spain have looked the best so far. i think a lot of the big teams have dissapointed but i'm sure teams will get better and better the further they progress. i've watched 95% of the games so far and i think its been pretty good ... in the group matches still to be played don't miss .. Sweden v England - Sweden will be battling for qualification, a loss for them and a win for Trinidad & Tobago means Sweden would be out. England have a point to proove too after their poor performances, maybe a new formation? Holland v Ivory Coast - Ivory Coast cannot afford to lose, while Holland will want to win which could guarantee them qualification if Argentina also win today. Holland v Argentina - mouthwatering clash. Riquelme, Van Nistelrooy, Heinze, Robben, Crespo ... some fantastic players playing. This match is likely to be battle for 1st & 2nd depending on results today. Czech Republic v Italy - another lively looking tie. probably will also decide 1st & 2nd in the group. Brazil v Australia - Brazil will want to hit back at their critics, not least Ronaldo while Australia will be full of confidence after their first win the world cup. Togo v France - Ok. i'm missing the South Korea and France game straight to this cause i think this could be a fight for qualification for France and i have a feeling Togo will be up for this. maybe i'll be totally wrong and France will destroy them, but we shall see. Spain v Tunisia - a win guarantees Spanish qualification while Tunisia will look for a result because of a tough final game with Ukraine. I'm just looking forward to seeing Spain again after looking very good against Ukraine.

June 16, 200620 yr Author ^ i would add Germany - Ecuador and Portugal - Mexico to that list as well Ecuador seems to be the better side to me at the moment, a draw is enough for them to get the 1st place. quite possible to play a 0-0 or 1-1 against this German team IMO presumably, Portugal - Mexico battle will be for the 1st place as well. and i think the Mexican team can cause a surprise and beat Portugal. they have some great players like Marquez, Perez or Morales. although their best forward Borgetti is injured, big lose...Portugal has worldclass players but somehow they can't make a team, their football has to improve a lot if they want to reach 1/4 finals well, we'll see. the KO round has to be one of the best in the WC history can't wait to see the final round of the WC
June 16, 200620 yr Italy, Spain and Czech Republic have been the best! I didn't like Brazil, England and France!
June 16, 200620 yr brasil' date=' england and france didn't play to the level they should have for now.[/quote'] True, Brasil's match was almost lost til Kaka came along, and I wasted 2 hours of my life watching France - Switzerland
