Superman Returns

Featured Replies

I just watched this today at a 10 PM advanced screening (not that advanced--only a few hours :laugh3:).

I actually kinda liked it. :stunned: Didn't expect myself to. It's a bit on the cheesy/corny side, but what movie based on a comic isn't? (there probably is one, but whatever) Buuut, very cool. :D There's a pretty good amount of non-pun/corny/cheesy humor also. :P All in all, I liked it... I think.

I'm planning on seeing it tomorrow. In my mind, Chris Reeve was the one and only superman, so it will be strange to see someone else filling that role...but we'll see...should be entertaining.

I also am seeing it tomorrow, should be good, but not as good as next weeks movie...Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Mans Chest!!

sings:

superman on an airoplaine, sittin next 2 louis laneeeeeee.............

did you remember if there was a scene where are group of rich looking people are in a room, and kevin spacy has a wig and takes it off and gives it to a girl or something... lol...

bwahahaha, did that really happen or are you making it up? I am going to see it tonight and hope that shows up. :laugh3:

I saw it,and it was everything I expected, the part where he saves the airplane was just awesome, plus I liked the special effects too!!

Saw it yesterday and (if you can't already tell by the new avi) loved it!

Superman is BACK! :D

I thought that the actor who played superman, Brandon Routh, did a really good job of affecting the same manerisms that Chris Reeve had in the role....which made it even more fun to watch. :nice:

* I don't think there is any spoilers in here..but if you haven't seen it and mind..

don't keep reading

At the very end, in the credits...it was dedicated to Christopher and Dona Reeve. I thought that was a sweet and considerate touch.

I didn't think it would be all that great. I just supposed that Christopher's role couldn't be exectuted as well by anyone else. But everyone..including Brandon Routh's role...was played exceptionally well. There wasn't any character that was particularly weak or anything.

And the special effects WOW! They weren't out of this world or anything..but they fit really well into the story.

And I did enjoy the costumes. It was kind of like old century..except set in our times.

I was actually and literally on the edge of my seat through some parts. This has never ever happened in any movie I have viewed!

And the atmosphere in the theatre was HEAVY .. everyone was feeling everyone else's reactions to lines and situations ( I am being really careful not to spoil it for anyone)

During some parts..people in the audience were just DEAD silent and not moving an inch! It was really cool.

And this image from the Coldplay music video 'Talk'

went through my mind at the scene where Richard, Lois and her son...were trapped on that boat..and it was sinking.

I will try to pull a screenshot of it later.

I recommend everyone to see it IN theatre, it's not the type of movie that has the same effect as it does rented or *cough* downloaded.

I agree on both accounts. Christopher Reeve really brought something special to that role...he played it with charm and grace....and ya know, I felt that with Brandon Routh as well. It really made me so happy to see Superman back again :nice:....I think Chris Reeve would have approved.

And yeah, I was on the edge of my seat too! I appreciated that the fight scenes weren't over done. I wont mention anything about the movie itself, so as not to spoil, but the climax of the movie was filled with so much tension....really well done there.

I think I may just have to buy it when it comes out on DVD...which is a big deal, coz I don't typically buy movies. :P

Oh G! The tension was THICK in the theatre. I was so amazed at just that!

And everyone gave a standing ovation at the very end...and people even stayed for the credits and applauded when the dedication scrolled about.

awesome

The only other movie that tension happened in was like Titanic ... or that Star Wars (dunno which it's called) where Yoda walks into the room and starts fighting (people applauded real loud..mostly the people DRESSED like Yoda ) :laugh2:

I think Mr. Reeve would be proud. Cuz I was.

I am prrrreettty sure this movie is going in with my top Ten

Superman is a character produced by 'DC Comics' which is a comic book series :)

But the movie itself might or might not have been based on a specific series (i dunno that answer)

Did you mean, though, if it was based on a comedy? Then the answer is NO.

But there were some humerous parts in the movie ..sorta.

why do you americans always get movies before europe?

Yes and UK/Europe always gets the best albums before US.

Many of the times, Europe has movies before US!

I went to see it on Imax and it was so funny because everyone would put on their glasses on and take them off at the same time.. hehehe

I think it's the best superman movie and watching it on Imax was even better. He came out of the screen:o. There were moments where I thought I was watching Christopher Reeve. They look so much alike.

this was a much better superman movie.... there were a couple of cheesy scenes but overall it was great because there were also some great scenes and the acting wasn't bad at all

Hey, I really liked this movie!! I love comic books though, so my opinion is really biased. Brandon Routh was REALLY GOOD!!! Wow! He was awesome and totally gorgeous too...

nah I was just saying that most comic-based movies are kinda corny. :P at least, i haven't seen a not-so-corny or sucky comic movie yet besides this one. :uhoh: oh, the first two X-Men movies were good. :uhoh:

Yesterday I went to watch it, i liked it although i thought i wouldn´t...they chose a great actor for Superman, i think he made a good job.
