OMG you saw Bono....to me Bono isnt even like a real person, he's like some sort of living God...to see Bono in real life would be surreal...I hope to have my own Bono encounter when they come back to Australia.

I have a friend who saw Bono up close. Her dad didn't believe her, but she recognized his glasses. In Chicago or somewhere, I don't know. O:

well.. in february when U2 came to chile Bono was invited to the governement's palace to receive a condecoration because all the good things that he does

 

well.. this thing was the same day that the concert here... feb, 26 and I went to the governement's palace hoping to see bono there.. I know that'd be difficult but I knew that in the concert I'll be really far from bono because I had no money to buy expensive tickets... the best things was that the golden circle was just for people with another tickets so the big fans were at the stadium waiting to enter to the golden circle so there wasn't too much people in the palace...

 

so I went there and I waited like 2 hrs...I was in a side of the palace but I don't know why I went to the another side and I waited there.. I was like at 1st row there... suddenly people started to scream and I was so nervious and then like 4 cars arrived to the place and then bono was like at one meter from me, he was in the car but he was saying hello to all the people there and I was so close and I was so happy... well he went to meet the president and the president gave him a charango.. a typical chilean music instrument and the Edge played mothers of the dissapeared with that charango in the concert... that day was the best day ever I saw bono like a 1 mt and I went to the best concert ever...

Bono is a magical person .. he's my hero... I love the way that he uses his popularity to influence to the political leaders to make good things... the one campaign, coexist and all that stuff.. he's a great man.. I'd love to do that...

 

but I'm sure If I could see chris or guy I'd be the happiest person in the world..

Bono does have good intentions its just something about him that I cant put my finger on...but I'm sure if i saw him i'd be over the moon!!!

and as for spotting Coldplay I'm sooo jealous. I was walking around the city on the day of the third melb concert hoping to spot them but to no avail. I would have jumped off the tram and attempted to strike up conversation.. If i could get my mouth to work :lol:

Does anyone know where they were staying? I heard they were staying at Crown Towers which would explain a lot. :)

My claim to fame? Years ago I think I saw Ray Meagher, who plays Alf Stewart on Home and Away, going for a jog... I think only Australians would know who he is... and just to clarify - I do not watch Home and Away!!!

 

I believe that if I knew where they were staying I would be severly tempted to go there and stay there until I saw them.. But I wouldn't because how embarassing when they find out that you've been standing outside their hotel for near on 10 hours... I would be contented with accidently spotting them out and about. Of course, my chance is gone because they aren't in Syd. anymore but I can wait.

Hahahaha well never lose hope! They will back in a few years so we all try again. The whole time I was in the city my sis who was with me kept going "stop getting your hopes up coz youre never gonna see them" and all that sort of thing but I just ignored it! Have faith. :P

There should be a recording of it on this forum somewhere from Glastonbury last year. That's how I knew the song when they played it in Sydney. It's one of my fav Coldplay live songs right now aswell so I got completely overexcited hehe I wish they'd played it in Adelaide aswell.
