What kind of parent would you be?

Featured Replies

Imagine a time when your little sprouts are running around, would you be strict? Would you be Kevin Arnolds dad? Would you be Richie Cunninghams mother?

Would you be lenient? Would you try and be the kids friend, or an authority figure?

I'd be the kind of father that would sit out in a lawn chair, drunk, in his underwear, and unable to remember the names of his own children.

That's pretty much what I am now. But it'd be official.

I hate kids. Little fuckers.

Haha, sorry man.

I think I would be a mum who really cares a lot about her kids...maybe too much sometimes...I would be easy going and strict...something in between...

Ok...I say this now...but if it would be like that...I doubt it...

actually i want to be a mum who wants to influence her kids with her passion for music and stuff....

I want to be extraordinary...

I'd give them confidence... so they can tell me their things whenever they want without worrying I might judge them, so I'd advice them in their things.

That is something I do not get from my parents.

Talking about own parents...

I think I would be like my parents.......especially like my mum.....I like her way of brining us up:D

Ohh and I neither would never push them to get very good grades!!

Children? Like, my kids?... Oh no-no, I don't wanna think about it :uhoh2:

Haha same here.

children from 0-4 are ok and from 15 and up too ... 5-14 are yuckie ..

I want to be a mother who's her childrens' best friend at the same time. I want them to trust me and to make them believe that they can talk to me about EVERYTHING! And I don't want to be called "You're not cool, mum" :P I want to be as cool as my kids, maybe even cooler :D

same here. :laugh3:

i want to be everything my mum isn't.

my mum didn't take time to care (and still isn't) to sit down and talk to me.

i don't wanna be like that.

i'd be one of those parents who put headphones with mozart music on my tummy when i'm pregnant... :D

I'm not sure. Hopefully I'll be nothing like my parents. :( I'm nothing like them right now, IMO. My sister is like my mom though. I'm quiet and reserved... which is completely opposite my parents.

I wanna be a parent that listens to what their children have to say about anything--even me. My parents get pissed if I say anything that might suggest that they're bad parents. Meh. I want my kid to not be afraid to tell me anything... my parents make... like... a two-person dictatorship...

haha i can't wait till i have my own little ones, but i've got a looong way to go. i love being around kids, so i don't think it'll be a problem for me to take care of them. i want to be a good mom with the right amount of discipline and everything, but i really want to be able to sit down with my kids and talk to them about...everything, really. i hope i don't end up like my dad though, i wouldn't wish what he says to me on anybody, :uhoh2:

I don't like kids either! The simple idea of having one drives me crazy 'cos it'd be the end of my current dreams :\

Nevertheless, I think I'd try to create an interest in music and give them all the freedom that my parents have given me (neither being reactionary, nor creating to them problems with sex). I'd like them to study for having a better future and all the necessary independence.

Ah, and another thing, I'd like to be their friend and also share several things with them.

I'd be a parent that would teach my child morals and the proper way to act in life early on and I'd let my kids do a lot of things and try to get them whatever they wanted cos I'd fear alienating my kids and them turning out to be drop-out hooligans

(what a run on sentence )

I think if you look back to the way you treat other people's kids, your siblings... you can maybe tell what you would be like..but it would be more extreme..because they would be your kids.

I work really well with all kiddos...and when kids fall..I cry along with them> I guess you call that "maternal instincts" :)

But I really don't want them...if I did have them - I would blend stern discipline..but still I hope I can make it so that I can still be their best friend and they can come to me for whatever.

i don't know how I WILL be but I do know that if I am even an inch like my parents..I will have the saddest kids around

I think that run on sentence constitutes you as a "drop-out hooligan" :uhoh:

An exceedingly good one I should hope.

Although, when Reilly mentions kids... I can't help but think about how many 5 year olds I could kill......:stunned:
