Yep' date=' and in all fairness, I'm not putting all the blame on Ronoldo...he's not the only one, just the highest profile one...speaking of fottie, I'm missing the second half...see ya![/quote']

Yeah exactly, he's not the only one, he just gets the most media attention and that's why you just turn to him and pay special attention to him and his actions!

their camp must have been excellent...

But obviously not excellent enough, because they went home empty-handed.:P

C. Ronaldo will henceforth be referred to as "CONaldo"!!;)

Haha hilarious! I love the fact that he's ALWAYS looking directly into the referee's eyes when he falls down :P

^ indeed he is. that cheat! I used to like him as a player and then he became like this. He should rely on his talent rather than pulling stunts like these.

Definitely. I hope he learns from this World Cup. He turned from a brilliant player to someone who gets booed by the audience whenever he touches the ball..

Why so much whining about something so unfortunately common in football? 90% of what I've read from english fans after their loss against Portugal was just rage against C. Ronaldo's sad behaviour, instead of pondering the (at best)mediocre campaign of Eriksson's squad. Just leave it... besides, I guess Ronaldo and Rooney must have trained their diving skills together at Man Utd:

:laugh3:

Oh come on, he just fell on the floor, totally natural after falling over the player.. And just because he looked at the referee once? At least he doesn't keep lying on the floor like Ronaldo does..

And a player like C. Ronaldo isn't COMMON in football.. God I really disrespect this man, I can't believe his attitude.. And the fact that us fans rage against Ronaldo and not against Eriksson is the fact that this thing with Eriksson is done.. He leaves the team, he already got lots of critics before the World Cup and also in the beginning ("You're history, Sven, now make some!")..

Totally natural? :o :laugh3: Now, I say: COME ON! Look how he waves his arms and lifts his legs and *just before falling* he looks at the referee! It's sad, but this mixture of football and ballet has been common for years.

Ronaldo is young and what he did was clearly immature, and I'm not talking about the diving; but I hope that one day he'll be able to match a fair-play attitude with his great technical skills.

I agree with you when it comes to Ronaldo..

But you shouldn't put it on Rooney now just because of one fall.. Every player does that from time to time, but Ronaldo is doing it CONSTANTLY!

We all know that Rooney has his faults, but in that particular incident, there was definite contact, and it was inevitable that Rooney would hit the floor in some way. At least he didn't "roll" over and pretend he was hurt, which is CONaldo's speciality.

That's what REALLY annoys people - when players feign injury and try to get fellow professionals sent off. Rooney would never do that, because he's tough, not a wimp like his soon-to-be "ex"-team-mate.;)

^ Exactly :P Rooney might have a bad temper, but he's also a tough guy and wouldn't cry over injuries or faults.. You could see that yesterday with Zidane as well! He was falling all the time, even had a bad injury on his shoulder - but he didn't stay on the floor or complained ONE SINGLE TIME!

True - Zidane's headbutt was an act of complete idiocy, and he got what he deserved, but at least it was the action of a "hardman"!!:P

Haha many people will criticise you for this comment ;) I guess he was a bit too "hard" in this particular situation! :P

As I said - he got what he deserved. But if Materazzi had made some deeply-insulting comment to him, you can at least understand why he did it. Maybe Zidane should tell us what was said......................... ;)

I think we won't hear anything from Zidane for a while.. I guess Materazzi won't tell us, and Zidane might not want to say it because it would seem like he's searching for an excuse for what he did.. Maybe we'll never find out! I think though that it had something to do with his family.. Maybe his wife that wanted him to quit..

It's funny you call him CONaldo, because the first four letters in portuguese mean c.u.n.t  so it's quite a bilingual offense, I guess :P

LOL LOL LOL. What can i say about this?? Anyone made a site about rooney? or is normal step on the balls of others players lol? The problem of english people was lose against portugal in euro 2004 and again in 2006. Portugal is a little country, but you aren't the best like you think, the world have more countries. I agree, english are so bad losers.

Good luck to 2008 ;)

A nós o quarto lugar já ninguem nos tira, e a dor de cotovelo é grande, tenho orgulho no meu país. Força Portugal :D

Well I knew it was "coño" in Spanish, but it hadn't occurred to me at the time.

But it certainly makes it even more appropriate!!:P

Haha I can't hear the expression "bad losers" anymore - bad losers are Argentinians who start beating up their rivals after the game!! I'm just fed up with Portuguese fans not admitting that their players cheat and dive constantly.. My best friend is from Portugal and of course she keeps supporting Portugal, but at least she admits that Ronaldo is a wanker and the whole team is cheating too much! You can still cheer for your country without constantly denying its negative points..

i don't know much about football but come on! i admit that cristiano ronaldo may have dived a few times but i've seen like 4 bilion threads about the same thing!!! just leave it! england lost for the second time against portugal, get over it! the game for portugal wasn't easy too but in the end we won.....we lost against france (like we use to) and no one has created this many threads about how we hate france because we don't! we lost and we are accepting it! and the same with germany....

and btw, what's the problem with cristiano ronaldo crying? is he commiting a crime or something? suddenly everything he does is wrong and is motive for criticism...

EDIT: and i've heard that many english people blame ronaldo for rooney's red card just beacuse he spoke with the ref before he showed the card!! i guess people think that the ref wouldn't show the card if ronaldo hadn't spoke with him! this is so ridiculous!!!!

EDIT2: @flying sparks (i just saw your last post now): we can see (at least i can) that our players dive sometimes but (sadly) almost every player does the same...i didn't see ronaldo diving that many times and weirdly it seems that english supporters only realised that he dives after losing against portugal...

Rubbish. He already had a reputation for "diving" in the Premiership, and for being a total show-off. Now everyone has seen it on the biggest stage of all.;)

He dives so often they should issue him with SCUBA gear!!:P

i didn't know he had that reputation before, as i said i don't know much about football...i only watch it when my national team plays or it's a game i'm interested in...anyway, i only started to hear from english people all these things against ronaldo since england lost against portugal in the WC so i'm speaking from what i know....and again i'm not saying he doesn't do it, only saying that for some reason this only started to be a big issue now...
