Sims music videos better than the real thing?

Several years ago I bought the Sims video game, where you create a character and you live a virtual life through that character.

Not long after I started playing the game, my character was always hungry, sleep-deprived and cranky — just like É me.

I quickly gave up on the game after playing it a handful of times. Other people love the Sims and have even found another use for the video game — creating music videos and movies.

YouTube isn’t just for watching people get pranked, although those videos are great. You can also find the Sims music videos there.

I was bored one night and I wanted to see what videos YouTube had of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark.” That’s when I stumbled upon a Sims video of the song created by Anthony Roberts of Springfield, Va.

The scenes aren’t a re-creation of Springsteen and Courteney Cox dancing onstage, but instead a fairly literal interpretation of the song. Roberts said it took him about six hours to create the video using Sims and Sony Vegas Video 6.

“On a road trip that song

ame on the radio, and the line ‘I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face,’ made me think of the part of the Sims where you create your character,” Roberts said in an e-mail interview. “So the more I thought about it, the more I realized other common scenes from the program could be used to fit the song. The mental pictures I had were kinda funny, so I decided to do it.”

Liz Trinnes of Cleveland created six Sims music videos, including The Fray’s “How to Save A Life” and Sparta’s “Taking Back Control.”

“Every Sim music video I make is just one of my favorite songs,” she said in an e-mail interview. “I just use the Sims to play, and I capture the scenes with the video camera in the game. When I’m finished recording, I edit the videos with Windows Movie Maker.”

Some of the videos are mindless fun, such as Fergie’s “Fergalicious,” while others like Coldplay’s “Fix You” deal with serious subjects such as domestic abuse….

Hahaha! I was on the 10th page of this thread and two videos came on at the same time!

They turned out to be "Speed Of Sound" and "The Scientist" but I thought that someone had found a NEW Coldplay song and posted it! :D

They sure sounded funky played simultaneously. :dozey:

COLDPLAY Performing the lovely "Green Eyes" in Buenos Aires. Very sweet!

CHRIS MARTIN Speaking French at Awards Ceremony for Bob Geldof

^^^^ I am learning French so I thought it was cool to have Chris as an inspiration to continue learning the language!

THANKS EVERYONE FOR SHARING YOUR VIDS!!!!

*Also, thanks to Coldplaying.com for continuing to have meaningful & kind moderators and fans who spread their love of Coldplay!

(On the Coldplay.com forum, there were too many mean people who picked on everyone, including the band itself ALL THE TIME! There were/are sooo many trolls... It was ridiculous!)*

~*Thanks!*~ Keep spreading the Coldplay Love!

omg:o Chris could speak french so fluently??? :stunned:

Chris' French

^^^^ hehehe.... He may have had the help of a teleprompter...:D

But yeah, he would need to have practised pronouncing the words before-hand.

Love this version of Daylight, particularly the camera work that captures each of them quite nicely. Oh, and getting to catch Johnny singing, always a treat.

Piano-led 'Daylight' is track 6 from Coldplay's sophomore album 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head'. This album had greater use of piano than Coldplay's debut album or most other rock bands popular at the time. The use of piano on A Rush of Blood has been subsequently credited with influencing the sound of bands such as Keane and Athlete, although this was in dispute at the time.

Daylight has a wobbly Eastern guitar intro - think Love-era Cult, Porcupine-era Echo & The Bunnymen. Another burrowing hook that fleshes itself out as the song progresses. This song was first played live in 2002 at Queen's Hall, Edinburgh, and recently re-introduced at the Latin America Tour of 2007.

Top of the Pops, also known as TOTP, was a long-running British music chart television programme, made and broadcast by the BBC. It was originally shown each week, mostly on BBC One, from 1 January 1964 to 30 July 2006. Each weekly programme consisted of performances from some of that week's best-selling popular music artists.

Top of the Pops has also been made available to television broadcasters in many different countries in the form of a franchise package. However, after some success, the majority of these have now also been cancelled.

Jonathan Ross: "What have been the highlights of this last year for you?"

Jonny: "Glastonbury was great."

Ross: "Glastonbury, yup."

Will: "I think just getting an album out is an achievement in itself."

Ross: "Why so, why is that?"

Chris: "It's like getting an erection. (smiles devilishly) Hard but.. (Laughs throughout audience), It's hard to do but...."

Ross: (looks sternly at Chris) "Is everything alright at home? Is he choosing this forum to discuss penile disfunction? Uh, obviously not."

= *CLASSIC* :laugh3:

Ross: "And you were at Live 8 of course. That must have been quite something wasn't it?"

Chris: "We were kinda shit at Live 8. (Face saddens a wee bit) But every... its was a good day."

Ross: (Like a parent scolding a child) "WILL YOU STOP BEING DOWN ON YOURSELF!"

Chris: "I'm not being down..."

Ross: "IT MUST DRIVE YOU GUYS NUTS THAT HE'S ALWAYS DOWN ON HIMSELF. (Jonny, Will, and Guy laugh)

YOU'RE ALWAYS DOWN ON YOURSELF. STOP IT. You were great at Live 8."

hahaha ... Ross is pulling out the whip on Chris' low self-esteem:whip:

The second video is sweet though... Chris starts welling up at the mention of his daughter. awww

And Jonathan Ross was a great interviewer.

Haha yeah that was funny. I liked the part where he said Will slept with his aunt. :laugh3:

Chris never likes to talk about his kids...not even just to brag, as opposed to his wife who can gush about Apple for an entire show (she's done it) haha.

OMG, I forgot to post the aunt one .... HAHAHA! Chris seems to never runs out of jokes. :dozey:

With Chris' wife, I know exactly what you mean. On Conan O'brien she did just that, and happily discussed Apple for a long while.

Hahaha, but then Conan admired how she was lucky to be married to someone who can write songs since Chris can come up with knew baby songs while everyone else has to listen to the same old ones... like the ones by Raffie, or the "Hip-Hip-Hopitee song" etc. :D

Haha didn't she say he wrote a song about her breasts getting larger? hahaha

Conan O'Brien

^^^^ OH yeah! :laugh3:

The "Nappies" song!!!!

Your cups went up from an A to D

Bad for you but fun for me

Those were the lyrics.

And then Conan started speaking in a hilarious British/Scottish accent and

he kept making fun of the different names for pacifiers (plugs) and diapers (nappies).

Put a plug in her eh?! ~ Conan O'Brien

Lastly, I remember Conan saying how Chris was going to kill him now because he was making fun of British expressions.

Sadly, the video was taken off of YouTube (grrr.. because of NBC copyright infringement issues)

Aw, lol. Conan was really cracking her up. :laugh3:

I´ve just found this...it´s so beautiful:heart:

I think there's something funny about the Speed of sound parody ("i'm changin Coldplay into the Chris Martin band" Lol :laugh3:) But i don't like the Scientist video, the actor looks so akward :veryangry:

This big-eyes man? It's just a parody ^^ I'm sure Chris was laughing, when he saw that :P Chris Martin Band... Chris still saying, that he has great band, and great people. And, of course, his friendship with Jonny... Coldplay will be as long, as there'll be someone, who listens them. In my opinion.

Yeah, you know what they say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery ;)

But i'd love to know what coldplay and especially Chris thinks of those videos :laugh3:
