July 16, 200620 yr Author ^:laugh3: He really does sometimes, doesn't he! :lol: That's what I love about it! :nice: It's like a breath of fresh air to listen to Parachutes after a long time listening to X&Y...not that I dont like X&Y, I love it, but it's nice listening to the beginnings of what is now one of the world's biggest bands...ya know, when things were simpler. Oh,when I said "not polished" it wasn't at all an insult...in fact I think over-produced, overly polished albums seem...artificial (maybe that's why I wasn't a big fan of X&Y at first). AROBTTH is still my favorite cd of theirs,but Parachutes had kind of a raw energy to it that's still awesome... ...I'm totally rambling now :laugh3:

July 16, 200620 yr I can only repeat - he's a liar. He can't really help it. It's stronger than him. Those songs are even better than the X&Y songs IMO. But I'm not saying these are lame...!!!
July 16, 200620 yr Chris is too hard on himself...themselves...whatever. All of their albums are wonderful. Parachutes isn't an exception. X&Y got so much shit... for whatever reason. I think it's because they've become so big now that they only thing they can get is an abundance of harsh critics. That happens with any big celebrity after they become so big. If the album had recieved critical acclaim I bet he'd feel different about it. They probably feel it's shit because people made them feel that way about it. He's realllly wrong.

July 16, 200620 yr that's just chris being himself. he probably is the most self-critisizing person in music history. i don't like his attitude towards his own music at all. +____+ we all know that Parachutes is a smashing album (not as good as AROBTTH, but still amazing)

July 17, 200620 yr Chris often says silly exaggerated things during interviews... he probably just means that he wants to do new stuff and move on musically. But I guess you must get a bit tired of playing the same old songs after about ten years!
