The I Can't Believe There's Not A Thread About Snakes On A Plane Thread

Featured Replies

I can't believe you guys have been slagging the film off without even seeing it. If there's one thing I've learnt since getting a cinema card its that you can't judge a film by its trailers.

The Break-Up - Reasonable film, but most of the funniest bits appeared in the trailers.

Snakes on a Plane - the trailers give you the briefest idea of what the film is. I went to see it semi-sceptical, knew there were going to be jumpy bits but didn't expect anything like the humour. The one thing i did know, is that i couldn't think of a bad film that Samuel L Jackson has been in, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt in his choice of work. there's some cracking lines in there, even if some of them are blatant product placement. "all hail the power of the Playstation" or however that quote goes!!

I disagree. I believe the trailers give a strong indication of how the film will be.

For example - the current trailers for "You, Me & Dupree" indicate that the film is one of those "stupid" types of films I can't stand - so I won't be wasting my time or money on it.;)

Ditto with "Snakes on a Plane". I prefer comedy that isn't of the "brain-candy" variety, in which category fell "Hey, Dude - Where's My Car?", one of the worst films ever!!:D

most importantly, i've no idea why anyone (well, rick8 and mc_squared) would take so much time into bashing a movie they haven't seen. i can understand slagging if you saw it and hated it (i hate spending money on a movie i ended up disliking) but i don't see the point if you haven't seen it.. it's pretty stupid to dislike a 30 sec preview and then repeatedly bash an entire movie because of it. and no offense to you two at all, it's just doesn't make any sense.

Well what really doesn't make any sense is how a ludicrously stupid film like that could be made in the first place!!:P

well, they made Old School, and are currently making Old School 2. Snakes on a Plane was at least watchable, and made loads of people in the cinema laugh. old School was a big pile of crap that we walked out of

Never heard of it.

I actually really really liked this movie. I thought it was fuckin hilarious. ANd I love the irony of it, I mean it's a satire on summer blockbuster movies while being one itself. Sort of like Scream for slasher movies.

I can't stand any of them.;)

It looks more like a funny movie than a thriller....

It seems like a fun action film that doesnt take itself too seriously.

Sounds ok by me, i dont like blood or gory films so i probably wont see it, but if i did like blood and gore then i would.

^Well it would be no more daft than the "snakes" film, so why not??:P
