StarsKay
well thanks everyone who posted their lists so far, but fuck this we need more, NEW DEADLINE: DECEMBER 16th!!! true is there some way we can boost numbers? like i said before, we should try encourage others to atleast visit this thread. i think the idea of adding the link to our sigs was a bit ridiculous but i think we were on the right path. i don't know, but we should do something or else the addition of new lists will be long waited and possibly too late. I mean, people on this board who only like Coldplay and don't visit the World Of Music section won't come here to make a long list of their fave songs/albums. And people who have many fave bands and do visit this section can see this thread without our reminder, they probably just don't want to make lists or they're too lazy. doritji
maybe it's because it's so hard ...:( i can't even choose a top 5 from coldplay songs, surely i can't make a top 100 of all time :\
Ondes Martenot
maybe it's because it's so hard ...:( i can't even choose a top 5 from coldplay songs, surely i can't make a top 100 of all time :\ there's a minimum of 50 songs and albums, you don't have to choose 100 ;) actually i don't think it's hard to find 100 songs or albums that you like, it might be harder to rate and organize them
StarsKay
there's a minimum of 50 songs and albums, you don't have to choose 100 ;) actually i don't think it's hard to find 100 songs or albums that you like, it might be harder to rate and organize them yeah, i find that the hardest part is to arrange and rate them in order of preference. as long as your favs are included, everything's not lost. when you've started, you're no longer stuck in square one, and the easier it becomes.unless you get a message from Ondes Martenot saying you've made a mistake somewhere, but don't panic, you're not in trouble... just edit, happy listing lol
Space Cadet
there's a minimum of 50 songs and albums, you don't have to choose 100 ;) actually i don't think it's hard to find 100 songs or albums that you like, it might be harder to rate and organize them It *IS* hard... ok, songs not so much, but albums... :uhoh2: I don't actually own 50 albums, and some of the ones I do own are actually stashed in a box somewhere never to see the light of day- not exactly going to end up on a favorite list. Then for instance, I would rate Feist's Let it Die very highly. BUT, come to think of it, I don't own the album, and although it's near the top of my to buy list, I've never actually listened to the album all of the way through. I don't know if there's some song on it or some bad track arrangement or something like that that would be a dealbreaker for me. Yet, I like the songs I have heard off of it to know that I would probably like it more than most others. In fact I would probably make it a wild card. What do I do for this and many others like it? Or how about Broken Social Scene? I've never heard any of their albums, just many individual songs. But they're one of my favorite bands, and one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Should I throw one of their albums onto the list blindly assuming that if and when I get around to listening to it all the way through it's going to be a favorite? Where on earth would I rate it if I did? And then there's the whole it's supposed to be their worst album, but it's the only one of their's I've heard and I love it guilt thing. The supposedly better album is going to be left off of the list because I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, and that bugs me. Oi... I'm so selfconcious about these things. :uhoh: Advice anyone? Anyway, it will be done before the deadline... I just need time...
gentleparachute
^ Similar concerns... I just have it a bit easier coz I've heard >50 good albums :laugh3: Took quite awhile to get there though. :uhoh: I'm just going to leave off all the average albums and hope that the good albums I've never heard will be listed by others :)
Lera
Yeah it isn't too hard to choose but it's hard to decide how many points should each song get. I think I've already edited my list for about... 5 times :uhoh: I think I'll have more ediotions till Christmas, it's a pretty big period.
Ondes Martenot
if you add 1 song and album to your lists every day, you'll be done before the deadline it really isn't that hard to find at least 50 albums and songs that you like, unless you are really lost in the world of music

StarsKay
^ yeah, you can add as many or as few albums/songs a day as you please. he was suggesting that if you are finding it difficult to list them, just add atleast one everyday and eventually you will have a list that you can arrange later.
