topstory.giftransdot.gifThumbs up... 3 mins later he was dead

transdot.gif420.jpgSMILING Steve Irwin gives the camera the thumbs-up only three minutes before he was killed by a stingray.

The 44-year-old was snapped by tourists just before he died in the freak accident when the creature’s poisonous barb pierced his heart.

The new photos show the lovable Crocodile Hunter in great spirits just before he perished while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.

Irwin was grinning as he posed with biologist Chris Jones, who was part of his documentary team. In another shot he is seen chatting to university researcher Dr James Seymour, who was wearing a T-shirt with a cartoon of a stingray on the back looking ready to attack.

Other shots taken by the tourist boat that stopped next to Irwin’s vessel Croc One show the larger-than-life character giving fans a wave.

The pictures also show him wearing diving goggles as he prepares to make his fateful journey into the sea. Also in the photo, the message on the side of his boat is a clear indication of the love of his life: "Crocs Rule."

The team involved in the making of Irwin’s last documentary have vowed to continue making the show, Ocean’s Deadliest.

It was to feature his daughter Bindi, eight, as the star presenter, along with footage of tiger sharks, turtles and stingrays. It’s unclear if it will feature Irwin’s last moments and the stingray attack.

In the past Irwin made it clear he wanted to be filmed at all times, saying: "My number one rule is to keep that camera rolling.

"Even if a big old alligator is chewing me up, I want to go ‘crikey’ just before I die."

Irwin was buried last weekend at the family’s zoo at Beerwah, Queensland.

Steve Irwin: A Tribute To The Crocodile Hunter will be screened on Sunday on ITV1 at 6pm.

That's because everyone in Germany is obsessed with Michael Schumacher, who has helped pollute the environment for years, instead of doing anything to help save it!!;)

Diseased rat> Ronaldo

Btw, theres only Williams left as a proper english team.

Honda, Renault, Spyker, Red Bull, Mclaren, Super Aguri, they're based here but they're all foreign owned.

Exactly!!:D

Bittersweet. But I thought that was taken a few days before, not minutes! ah well.

It just shows how friendly and genuine he was.

Seems unbelievable that exists a picture of him that was taken 3min ago before his death. He looked full of life, with so many energies...

hell, his death is a big loss

Ive found an address on contacthollywood.com where you can send messages of condolence etc.
