September 30, 200619 yr Chris Martin always lied. this time too. there's no manager at EMI who would allow them to waste 5 years without any new albums...2011 for the new album?? lol' date=' very unrealistic...[/quote'] Just what I wanted to say :D
September 30, 200619 yr hi wots up my neme is bruno pownall Are you related to Phil Pownall the tennis coach??
September 30, 200619 yr He's basically saying it's going to take as long as it's going to take. There is no set time. Now five years is a long, long time. I doubt all four of them will be sitting around for that long w/o any kind of creative juices flowing. We'll see. =)

I doubt all four of them will be sitting around for that long w/o any kind of creative juices flowing. We'll see. =) Exactly...there will be side projects etc. I'm willing to wait as long as they are. By the end of the Twisted Logic Tour, it really looked like the guys were exhausted. They need and deserve a break...and so do their families.
September 30, 200619 yr well if they need 5 years they need 5 years i dont mind as long as we get an album eventually..
October 1, 200619 yr there's no manager at EMI who would allow them to waste 5 years without any new albums Although I agree that we can't really instantly beleive what Chris says, I do think they need a break, and Chris did say 'if it takes five years', not that it will take five years. It could be very good for them in my opinion. And they do deserve a nice long break. but five years? Who knows? I think that was what Chris was trying to say. But the comment about the managers is inaccurate. Yes, EMI representatives would get antsy and probably a little ticked off, but they can't just force the band into the studio, and even if they did, that doesn't mean anything would come out of it. If they wanted to take a 30 years hiatus, the record company has to comply with it.

I don't really know what to say, everyone else here did a good job. um, we've had them for almost two years with X&Y and the tour, i'm sure their families would like to spend some time with them too  .

October 1, 200619 yr noooo. that means it'll be forever before they're back out on tour, too. I'll probably be married by then ;) I'll drag my husband to a show :D
October 1, 200619 yr Some record deals call for a band to release a certain number of records in a certain period of time...but even if that were the case, the guys have alot of un-released material from X&Y, as well as vaults full of other songs...they could fulfill that kind of contract with plenty of time to have a life...everyone wins! Oldplay? LEave it to you, Mark, to come up with that one...priceless,lol!
October 1, 200619 yr yeah, everyone has said everything I was gonna say. hummm ah, also but still they'll most likely lose some fans if they don't release an album while we're all still breathing , plus they still have plently of time for family. remember when chris said that when he gets really old like in his 40s (lol) he's going to teach classic, while that might mean that their next album might be their last cos they'd all be to old to carry on.........but chris also said they won't stop till they've written the besy song  MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND. some bands release an album every year. shit I'd be in my 20s (I think) the question is will I still be into Coldplay?.....hummmmm, only 2629743.83 minutes till we'll know (don't worry I'm not smart google is hehe)

October 1, 200619 yr I don't know...probably is a marrketing strategic decision! Anyway, if it was true, we would be very desperate!
October 1, 200619 yr imagine the furore if they waited 5 years only to release something shite. Some would argue they only waited three years before releasing X&Y
October 1, 200619 yr Wait a minute lets take a reality check here this article was in the "Daily star" a complete rag that's more bothered about how many pairs of tits it can squeeze into an edition than relevant news.
October 1, 200619 yr guy berryman >>> guy familyman :stunned: but it's okay ...5 years isn't that long for them i can wait :smug:
October 1, 200619 yr Chris Martin always lied. this time too. there's no manager at EMI who would allow them to waste 5 years without any new albums...2011 for the new album?? lol, very unrealistic... --------------------------------- LP4: between 2007 October - 2008 June not earlier or later ^quote that there we are.
October 1, 200619 yr Wait a minute lets take a reality check here this article was in the "Daily star" a complete rag that's more bothered about how many pairs of tits it can squeeze into an edition than relevant news. Ha ha - never truer words said!! :laugh3: :laugh3: They literally make news up in that paper - it's even more down-grade than The Sun. I really doubt the fans have anything to worry about!
October 1, 200619 yr When I read this news, my heart was about to stop... But I understand it's very important for them to spend time with their family... Children grow so fast, it would be so sad to miss this... they will regret it... I checked the official site about this. In the Q&A section, a question has been asked about this... We all know Debs is reliable (IMO...I don't know about your opinion, guys and girls...) Here you've got what it has been written... Q: "Hello debs, thx for all that you do for this website! I've heard that Chris said they won't start to record before 5 years! i think it's just a rumor, but what is the truth? Thank you for your answer vive coldplay from france. A: there's an article circulationg that has quoted Chris saying "if they take 5 years, so be it". that is very importantbut many are ignoring its very existence. they won't take 5 years, so no need for everyone to panic.
October 1, 200619 yr Hey, look how long the Beatles went on, or Queen, or The Stones, or U2! Coldplay has plenty of time to make albums. They're not here for our pure enjoyment. They have lives of their owns ;)
October 2, 200619 yr hm i wouldn't count on this being official news, if it was Debs or someone would've made it clear or would clarify things now, but nothing's happened and we're all jumping to conclusions, as we do  but that's interesting. if they did take 5+ years off, that is completely fine with me, they do deserve it and i'm sure that although they wouldn't release an album, maybe EPs etc, maybe. they wouldn't lose me as a fan, i don't see the logic in fans no longer staying fans because of a 5 year break, that isn't even a reason imo.
