Do you talk a lot about yourself?I mean in your real life....

 

I always have to think about a friend's statement: "I do not talk about myself too much.....talking about yourself is stupid!"

 

 

for myself i think in my real life I do not talk a lot about myself......I mean about personal things....

 

do you consider it as a good or a bad thing?

im not selfish ,i dont have any idea to talk about myself if is not necessary

i don't talk about myself unless i'm asked to, like an assignment or something, otherwise, i'm usually the one to hear people talking about themselves

I never talk about myself. Talking about myself is stupid. Why would I ever want to do that? I mean I hate it when people do that all the time. I feel its a dumb thing to do, but thats just how I feel about this, just my opinion I guess..

Even if I'm told to talk about me, I try to avoid the subject...

I'm a bit too shy (as many of you, as I could read...) and I find it a bit conceited to talk about myself...

i talk about myself to my close friends, to those i feel i can trust. otherwise i don't try to expose myself to others; i'm quite shy actually.

once i was having a conversation with this guy... and we were talking and stuff and he said 'im so sorry im talking about myself so much", and it got me thinking- well, isnt that the only way for u to get to know another person, If he/she talks about him/her self.... so i said "Of course you talk about yourself, otherwise who would u be talking about"

we always either talk about ourselves, things in our lives or we gossip about other ppl...

otherwise u wouldnt be talking much but asking many questions

i only get to have conversations about things that arent personal with close friends.. like when u discuss meaningful things with good friends. Like today my friend and i were talking about heaven and hell, and relegion and afterlife etc. You never talk about stuff like that with ppl u hardly know :thinking:

Some more than others. There's one person in particular who appears to be the world champion at talking about himself. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions as to who that might be.:rolleyes:

sure, you're right... but what I think Julia means is that kind of person, sometimes good friends that you know already, but when they talk it seems that nothing else happens in the world... I did this and that, I went, I bought and so on... and don't care about what's happening with the others...

those are just superficial ppl....

i think ppl like that are only the kinds of friends that are your friends because they happenned to be there, and you happenned to talk to each other and you get along. But there's no depth to the relationship... It's really hard to explain, but it's a relationship that just happenned, and u probably wouldnt be too upset if you lost it because it's the sort of relationship u can have with anyone basically

a friend of mine comes to mind when i say this... that's why it's hard for me to explain...

 

we've been friends for 7 years now, pretty good friends. And i dont think we've ever talked about anything that really meant something.

i think ppl like that are only the kinds of friends that are your friends because they happenned to be there, and you happenned to talk to each other and you get along. But there's no depth to the relationship... It's really hard to explain, but it's a relationship that just happenned, and u probably wouldnt be too upset if you lost it because it's the sort of relationship u can have with anyone basically

yea... it hasnt been lasting too well for the last couple of years

 

we were really good friends at school, but once i switched schools i only talk and see her once in a while. As appose to other closer friends that i talk to all the time, just cause something about them makes me wanna pick up the phone and call them...

with her, she's so plain and superficial that nothing really pushes me to make me wanna see her or talk to her.... so we just drift apart.....
