We've always know he was one of the world's biggest stars.

But it seems as though Bono has taken the role a bit too literally.

U2's frontman and philanthropist looked decidedly podgy as he strode around in his shorts while on holiday in Croatia.

The 46-year-old was relaxing in the Adriatic sunshine with his wife of 24 years, Alison Hewson, 45.

Perhaps he's been indulging a little too much in the sweetest things.

And it's time to get back in training for another world tour...
