Is Chris religious?

Featured Replies

Strange question! I know, lol.

But I was just watching the interview that he did on Charlie Rose earlier this year and the interviewer mentioned that both of his children have biblical names and it's true. So I was wondering if that was the case? They are both nice names I think.

The other guys too, I wonder if they are. :laugh3:

Ok, dumb thread of the day. :P

I'm not sure. I think Chris is one of those people who beleives in God (Or atleast in a higher power), but dosen't really claim himself to one single religion.

I could be wrong though. As for the others I have no idea.

I think he came from a religious family (i.e his parents) but as far as I've read/heard, he's not a regular church goer or anything like that. Gwyneth comes from a Jewish family, I think.

The website of this link is a big joke!!!

Hahaha, thanks! :) I'm sure he believes in a higher power. Just listen to how he describes song writing. Or awhile ago he when he was talking about the chance they've given he said that 'there must be something higher'. :)

I guess thats a personal question though. I bet he wouldn't answer if someone asked, lol.

in both books i have, he was described as being very christian when he was younger. interviews i have read have said he believes in a higher power, but not necessarily a christian god. he's more into the morals apparently, saying "isnt it nice just to be nice? i think its nice just to be nice."

and he studied ancient history at uni, so theres lots of biblical tie-ins there.

id like to know about the others too.

:D He probably won't answer, because as you say, it's a personal question, but why not post it in the 'Ask Chris Martin A Question' thread the BBC has on here? It's a great question!:D

Yeah, I was reading an old Q magazine interview and it said that he said his mother was very Christian, but that it didn't really stick onto him. But he does have really good morals. (attractive!!! )

Haha, yeah why not...I'll give it a whirl. :)

from Rolling Stone 2005/2006 Rock & Roll Yearbook edition:

..."Martin's spirituality also took a sharp turn. He was raised believing in a Christian God - not the same God, he's quick to point out, as 'those crazy American fundamentalists' like George W. Bush - and at an early age he felt the collective power of singing in church. 'Everybody singing together is the best feeling in the world,' he says. At Sherborne, meeting kids of many colours and creeds, Martin found his beliefs had morphed inot something more ecumenical. 'I went through a weird patch, starting when I was about 16 to 22, of getting God and religion and superstition and judgement all confused,' he recalls. 'I think a lot of our music comes out of that. I definitely believe in God. How can you look at anything and not be overwhelmed by the miraculousness of it? Everything from that carpet to your nose to my balls is amazing. In fact, my balls are a particular miracle.'

i think i'll leave it at that, hope that helped a little :)

LOL! *blushes* Don't most guys think their private parts are a gift from God?
