How could I forget: First Impressions of Earth

It was such a let down. What three good songs and for the rest just shit? How could the pull that. :(

Joanna Newsom's album was a let down but admittingly I didn't buy it and didn't listen to it often enough. But it was enough to realize it's nothing like her brilliant first one.

U2 - 18.

 

A greatest hits which wasn't really needed to be released, it was just a cash-in to get the new fans who found U2 after their latest 2004 album, which if true, why wait til 2006, a good 2 years after that album to be released to release a greatest hits?

Well she's the only one to have ever incorporated "Tesco" in a song lyric!!:P

 

Franz Ferdinand mention Tesco in one of their songs. I remember because I didn't have a clue what it was, and had to look it up. I thought it was a gas station.

i quite like 'she's madonna', there isnt any other decent song on the album in my opinion. 'luise' is ok but i couldnt say i like it.

 

it was definitely one of the worst albums of the year.

probably for me Paolo nutini, sandi thom and Lily allen, totally overrated all 3 of them, and I really did want to like them too!!!

I believe they mention Tesco in The Fallen, when they played it live in America, they changing the word to "Best-Buy".

I would have included The love Album by Westlife, but I only listened to the first 20 seconds of it before I gave up and put on some classic radiohead.

Anything attached by Westlife will become crap.

Another couple honourable mentions, not one of the top 5, but in the top 10:

The Automatic - Not Accepted Anywhere:

The Automatic in years to come will be put down as one-hit-wonders, that hit being Monster, even that tune on this album isn't really a stand-out song. It's like the Bravery of 2006.

 

Milburn - Well, Well, Well/ The Holloways - So this is great britain:

Nothing new from either albums, as it's just stuff we have heard times and times before re-generated by a new band.

3 - Sam's Town - Was looking forward to this after the mighty Hot Fuss but was let down massivley by a Springsteen esque album without the hooks, melody or the talent.. No power, no emotion, very week.

I have been saying Sam's Town is rubbish ever since it leaked. My final mark for it on my system was a low 0.3/10.
