Yeah, sure I'm watching handball World Cup! Great to be the host again, after the amazing football World Cup. Some games will also take place in Bremen. :nice:

 

I also watched the first game on ZDF last Friday and although it wasn't brilliant I'm sure we'll reach the next round soon. Unfortunately our best players like Kretschmar or Schwarzer aren't in the squad anymore...

 

Today we have to play against Argentinia. I will switch between handball and the Simpsons. :P

handball is awesome to watch and play, but in australia the only time we get to see it is when they show it during the olympics, otherwise no handball for us aussies :(

We came so close to beating world champs Spain yesterday. We just fell apart in the second half :disappointed:

Handball is very popular here, so you may watch at least one game every week on TV. German league is the best on the world. :nice:

They used to show the Bundesliga here! I used to really enjoy watching that every week.

 

I'm very proud of the lads though. Its a young team and we pushed Spain right to the end.

Never heard of "Handball", what is it about?

I have heard of the name, and I think I played it at primary school before the accident, but I have no memories of what it is about.

 

Although from the name, it suggests it has a ball and a hand.

it's similar to football....but played with hands...lol

I guess here it's more popular than ice-hockey and basketball...

 

Well, yeah teams have to throw the ball into the other goal, but the players aren't allowed to enter the circle around the goal. But they have the possibility to jump in it.

 

One of the best players ever was Stefan Kretzschmar. Here's a goal of him against Spain during Olympia 2004 in Athens.

 

 

Maybe this helps a bit to find out what handball exactly is... ;) By the way it's one of the hardest games ever. It's very easy to injure yourself.

Oh my god did anybody see Iceland thrash the French bast*rds tonight? After the Ukrainian game everyone saw us packing our bags and going home but no! Not the mighty Iceland! 32-24 against the defending champions. Gruop phase 2 here we come!

cmon is no one interested in the world cup? Mighty Iceland were fantastic in the second half against Tunisia today. We have a great chance of qualifying for the quarter finals

Just watching Tunesia-Germany on TV... it's 19:29 after 50 minutes! :dance: It's so good that Christian Schwarzer is back in the German squad! During the first two games he was working as an expert for ZDF. :lol:

haven't watched any match yet, but I hope that our team will get far, because they're really good, though some good players don't play this time...
