I COULD GO OUT OF MY FUCKING MIND!!!

so i downloaded this new itunes version and when i wanted to disconnect my frigging ipod it kept saying "please do not disconnect". it just won't go away!!!

and on top of that itunes does not recognise my ipod anymore. >____<

AGGGHRHRHR!!!

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!!??

Is there anyway of backing up my iPod just incase i was to change iPods?

Or you can backup your music/videos/pictures onto an external hard-drive.

sheesh :uhoh: the only problem I've had with mine is that when it has been sitting a while I have to force it to reset. it's not 2 years old yet. I got an accidental warranty on it though, so I'm hoping it will break and I'll get a new one

oh man, grace. I'm sorry about your itunes problems. Maybe you can try using windows media player 11 or 10. I'm not sure if wmp 9 works if that's what you're using. You can use it to add songs to your ipod pretty easily if the computer recognizes it. If wmp doesn't recognize it, then it must be a usb/driver issue. If the computer does recognize it with wmp, you can probably just uninstall itunes and install an earlier version and try that.

Windows Media Player doesn't work with iPods.

Try re-installing the latest version of iTunes to see if the iPod talks to it them.

My mum managed to get a 2 year extended warranty (on top of the 1 year Apple-Care warranty) from Currys when she got her iPod Shuffle. Which covers pretty much everything, so in 2 years time when it dies she can take it back and get it swapped for a new iPod Shuffle (or whatever the replacement will be)

^^I don't know about that, but iTunes allows you to backup all of your music on cds.

Instead of wasting CDs would i be able to play htat music on any pc or save it to any pc.

If you mean getting music off your ipod and onto a computer or hard drive, then download a program called 'Yamipod.' Google it, it's free and a very good program that copies songs from ipod to computer, which itunes does not allow you to do.

I've had my 4th Generation 40Gb Ipod for just over 2 years and no major problems yet. Only thing is the battery life is shorter now than it used to be and I'll probably need a new battery sometime soon, but that's to be expected with excessive use (over 2 hours a day on buses to uni every day for 2 years etc).

grrrrrrrrrr I installed the lastest version of iTunes and now the bloody thing won't play on my PC. I get an error message saying some shite about my "audio configuration"...WTF! :bigcry:

Are you talking about version 7.1.1???

Yeah, I'm too afraid to install it on my computer. :uhoh:

Geez, iPods are so fragile.

Mine just froze. How do I get it to....unfreeze???

Like I said earlier when iTunes 7.0 came out...

...wait until 7.1.2/3 is released so the bugs have been discovered and ironed out.

So they are all wma files?

Easy. Import all of them into itunes and then convert them to mp3, then you are free to used them on your ipod.

Only if they are unprotected wma files. If you didn't change the default when you installed windows media player from protected files, your F*cked.

I got mine sorted. Had to go in and remove my prior quick time install, then install the newest iTune.

that like, really really sucks.

I had an ipod for a while..then gave it to my sister. But as she takes super good care of her things, I think it has laster her well.

I think I will wait for the Microsoft Zune reviews of durability to show up before I use mine too much and then can't resell it on eBay. So far I have had no problems with my Zune. But then, I haven't had it too long.

Mine's about 6 months old and occasionally freezes but I just reset it and it's fine. One time it would not turn on or be recognised on the computer and I was furious but the apple site was quite helpful unfortunately....I wanted to give them an ear belting. I had to reset it about 20 times over 3 days but now it's fine. It's terrible I can't stay mad it, I love it so much.

Anyone have the problem where your artists repeat in the artists menu on the ipod. On my Ipod, Coldplay is repeated twice and Snow Partol is repeated 5 times. I don't know why it does this, the artists are not repeated on Itunes, and all of the repeated band names are spelled the exact same way. Also I can click on any of the five snow patrol names and access every album they have, does anyone know how to fix this, or if it takes up more space on the ipod by having snow patrol's discography repeated 5 times?

Check out songs are only once in your library and remove the others (that are in double or triple), it's easy. I had the same problem but i have fixed it. When you have checked out your library, just plug in your I-Pod on your computer and update it. The songs that are on your library will be replaced by those you've checked out. :)

Whenever you download a new song in your library, you can update your I-Pod (with your I-Pod plugged in on your computer) and you UPDATE it, that's all.

That duplication of names problem may also be because the names of the artists are not stored in there exactly the same. For example, there might be 1 extra space or a small typo in one of them, so the Ipod thinks it's 2 different artists as they are not written exactly the same. I've had that before.

If you select everything by 1 artist that's in there twice and right click then show the info of them all, if the artist field is blank, this means the ipod/itunes are storing them as not all the same artist. So type in the artist correctly and they will now all be stored under the same one.

I have a problem I hope someone can help with.

A new album I recently added to my ipod is playing in the wrong order. When viewing it from my ipod through itunes on the computer, they show as being in the correct order, but on my ipod they are in the wrong order. Specifically tracks 12-15 are playing at the start before track 1, even though I have been through editing the info and each song has the correct track number stored. They are just appearing and hence playing in the wrong order in my ipod, despite showing in the correct order in itunes when my ipod is connected to the computer.

Anyone know how to solve this?

Well isn't that Murphy's Law?

Immediately after ejecting the ipod, they are now in the right order even though I did nothing to change them.
