Coldplaying Dot Com Podcast

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever thought of doing this?

It wouldn't cost anything, the music would always be amazing, it would be another way for ppl to find coldplaying on the web (podcasts are discovered via mp3 serches all the time), members could plug their bands, art or whatever else they're into...it could be alot of fun!!

Along with music, the host could play highlight of CP interviews, read off the latest news etc...and I think it would all be legal.

I'm sure more than one of us is/could easily be set up for podcasting, so we could have rotating hosts so that no one person had to work their butt off for it if they didn't want to.

Just an idea...let me know your thoughts, and let me know if I posted this in the wrong part of the forum, lol.;)

EDIT: Just a thought...each week, we could use a playlist submitted by a different forum member, although that could ba a bit hard to asemble.(Can't wait for RICK8's list, lol)

great idea... i could help you with that

Wow I was actually thinking about this all economics class this morning, I hadn't read it. Over at http://www.thelarrymullenband.com forum they have a streaming radio station that they just play boots and the like on all day. Different people can be a DJ and you just need winamp to do it, really easy apparently.

I think a streaming station would be neat. It would be cool if Nik did a show once a week or something to introduce us to some new music.

Would that be impossible to do mods?

OOoOOH!! broadcast journalism was my major at college!!! I would love to do this.... now how is it done??

If all you need's Winamp, it must be fairly easy!:)

I know podcasting is pretty simple once you're set up, but to be honest, I don't know alot about getting started. I have a podcasting for Dummies type of article that makes it wound not too hare. But I like the streaming station idea better. Nik's show would be amazing. So would alot of other ppl's on here.

SHows in other languages besides English would also be possible.:)

It's simple to do, get a microphone and set Audacity running recording your stuff.

Well I say we start a streaming station! I'm not a wiz kid so I don't know how to set it up, but if somebody else does I will help out.

I think its a brilliant idea.

Coldplaying's my favorite website, as I'm sure it is many others, so it would be awesome to branch out into the world of podcasting.

Me too, I just don't know how to get it off the ground.

anyone else want to add their weight to this?

the more people who get involved the easier it will be to get it off the ground :)

Archive.org is a good site to host podcasts. Although it isn't very user friendly in terms of getting the mp3 files up onto it and into an area where a member of the public can actually download them.

I'll help in whatever way I can. I would gladly run a show or two a week.

^^ Wow, Jamie, nice bump. :P

Anyway, I'd like to do something like this sometime. I have a voice recorder on my mp3, and it'd be a shame not to use it.

Great! I'll sing some songs! :P Not mine 'cause I'm not a songwriter nor do I play an instrument..I'm not a singer either.. :shifty:

never mind :shy:

I'll do it.

I'm just creating a webpage to have it all linked to.

I find that an exterior website would be best to have everything in the same place

I'll be doing this as an ode to Tracie, who rarely pop's by here these days, is a shame.

and I'll be doing a news section, and various other sections through the format of text and audio podcasts.

well, I'll do it if a mod can guarantee that it will become a sticky thread in the coldplay and/or Lounge section.

any takers?

I'll do it.

I'll stick it for you, JD:wink3:

EDIT: That did not came out right. I'll stick the thread for you... :idea2: much better...indeed.
