Abortion

Featured Replies

well, it's the topic of the moment in my country with a referendum taking part today to decide if it will be legal from now on to women to abort until the 10th week of fecundation...

what do you think about this? on one hand abortion, legal or not, will always exist... and is it fair to send a woman to jail just because she has no conditions to raise a child or if she got pregnant vicrim of rape?

on another hand, is it fair to kill an innocent baby whose not guilty of being an accident or not? or, still... at which moment is it considered a baby?

I confess I'm quite divided about this...

Oh, no - not this topic again!! Where's mrfool??

There shouldn't even be a discussion IMO. Women should have the right to decide. End of story.

ah we are talking about exactly this topic in our religious education classes currently....

so, according to my christian believe I have to say that every unborn child has a right to live.....and that abortion is and should always be illegal....but I also can understand it if women "kill" their unborn child maybe because of a rape or other bad conditions.....if I remember correctly it is always illegal to abort here in Germany.....but if you do you won't be sent to jail (if you do it in the "allowed" time).......

damn now we are talking about this in school a lot and I can't remember important facts about this....shame on me....

I think there are still special rules (at least here in Germany....) which are considered when you were a victim of a rape....but I'm not sure about the details....

what I think is that women shouldn't abort so easily....only because their pregnancy was an "accident" and now they can't handle the situation....

as I've said before.....if they were a rape victim it's something else.....(although the baby is still a bay and has the right to live......but I understand those women...)

until today, in Portugal, women were sent to jail if they abort children... but in most of the cases justice never found out a thing, cause women made abortion on illegal clinics with no conditions, which was not always safe for them to...

it will be legal from today... yes won with 57%...

It's the correct decision.;)

well as far as I can remember they weren't sent to jail for it here....but I could be wrong....

what I know is that many women still take the opportunity to do it in another country were it is "allowed"

I really should pay more attention to my classes...:uhoh:

too bad mrs. tilolas did not abort...

I don't think it's that easy....I mean that there is no need to discuss it.....there are many different views and beliefs in this world......so imo there is a need to discuss it....because different beliefs have different views about it.....

too bad mrs. mc_squared did not abort...

There's mrs. mc_squared?

I had no idea.

"Abortions for all! "

why?

10 weeks is enough for the mother to find out that she is pregent and get the abortion. Although it's a hot subject in some places, with the "Bible-Lovers" saying that it's wrong.

But I'm going to be sitting myself on the fence between "right" and "wrong" for the time being.

Go figure.

It's OK - he's a bit slow. In fact, I reckon he should change his username to Tislowlas!!

As long as there's a recognised "acceptable" time for a woman to abort if she wants to, then that's good enough......................

I think it's 22 weeks in the U.K. Not 100% sure, so don't quote me on that figure.

Yes. It's forbidden but only like selling hash is forbidden in the Netherlands. It's accepted by law to abort until the 12th week, and otherwise only if it was rape or if you can proof it would be a real burder for the mother well, I mean not just 'like this' and you need to have a talk with a specialist about it first.

Oh and if it in the end actually was forbidden then it's the doctor's "fault", I mean, law says that.

There's no real solid foundation for my belief, but it is what it is. I think a baby is real when it either has a conscience or two people have agreed to have sex which causes a healthy egg to meet a healthy sperm. If two people agree to have sex, once the egg and sperm meet in my opinion it's as good as real and shouldn't be aborted for any reason, even if they didn't want a baby. However, If a girl did not agree to have sex, she did not agree to have the baby, so BEFORE it has a conscience (i.e. it has brain function) of any sort as an animal or a human spirit it should be aborted if the mother so decides and never agreed to have sex. And if she does agree for it to be born there is no reason she should be obligated to take care of it if she doesn't want to.

Half of that belief is based on biblical reasons and half of that is based on the fact that I wouldn't want a girl to get raped and have some terrible duty the rest of her life which she never agreed to.

No woman should be forced to go through a pregnancy if she doesn't want to.

That's the bottom-line.;)
