uhhh.. i don't know if i should make another thread about this cause i haven't seen anyone mention it but...

 

go check out the coldplayer on the official page. rehearsing Green Eyes/High Speed.. some stuff from Will, an audio recording of Guy after the first show, etc etc. I'd had no idea it was being updated.

Oh yeah and don't get your hopes up.. at first I thought they were rehearsing a new song but they were just having a hard time remembering how to play High Speed hahah.

Concert

 

In a Parisian music hall, you can be seated on the first rows with a numbered seat. You pay a mint for it as you can imagine, otherwise in other music halls you can be nearby the stage but you remain standing up during the whole concert, say, for 2 hours or so. At Stade de France stadium, seats are numbered but as it's outdoor, the sound is not good, whereas in Bercy, it's indoor, seats are numbered too and the sound is great (somewhat too loud though). Last time Coldplay came, they gave a concert in Bercy. Next time i won't miss them, i can assure you !

Can anybody give me links talking about the press conference in Argentina? I've read bad things about it (that the journalists did not treat them well) and that has made it to be really short... so, anyone?

He wanted them to wear the Brazilian football t-shirt. But it seems he only wanted them to wear it for a pic ... I really don't understand journalists ... once that a band gives a conference, they bother them with stupid questions, and ... oh well, I won't continue with this, cos it makes me angry.

 

But all I've got to say is that Chris acted that way cos the journalists are stupid .. not because he was in a bad mood ... at least thats what I think. If the rest of the band reacted well... they have a great patience ! :laugh3::thinking:

Coldplay, un mal trago final en Argentina

 

El líder de Coldplay, Chris Martin, concluyó la charla con la

prensa argentina en el Faena Hotel cuando apenas llevaban 20 minutos de charla, luego de que se le mencionara que los medios chilenos criticaron duramente los shows en ese país. Fue luego de tres noches con entradas agotadas en Buenos Aires. Aquí las fotos.

 

Ante la sola mención de las críticas, Martin apoyó la cabeza en la palma de su mano, hizo gestos de abatimiento y permaneció así hasta que tomó el micrófono y dio por concluida la rueda. Su argumento fue que lo habían "deprimido" los comentarios de la prensa.

 

Muy diferente fue la actitud de sus compañeros, quienes, a pesar de las fallas del sonido que hubo durante toda la charla, contestaron las preguntas de buen agrado.

 

Coldplay se presentó esta semana en Buenos Aires, donde los shows fueron calificados como muy buenos, más allá de las limitaciones e influencias que se perciben en el sonido del grupo.

 

Pero en Chile, donde actuaron la semana pasada, el concierto recibió criticas malas y por esa razón Martin, el guitarrista Jon Buckland, el bajista Guy Berryman y el baterista Will Champion pusieron mucho empeño para que las tres presentaciones en el Gran Rex tuvieran un nivel más alto.

 

"Coldplay puede emocionar a las chicas porque Chris Martin es lindo y encarna al héroe rockero frágil y sensible, pero en el terreno de las canciones, no dan el ancho que las etiquetas proclaman", señaló un diario chileno.

 

Además de problemas con la traducción, otra tensión se generó cuando Manu, cronista del programa Fuera de Foco de America TV, crispó los ánimos de los británicos cuando pretendió que la banda se sacara una foto con una cartel que rezaba "No a las papeleras" y se pusieran una camiseta del seleccionado brasileño de fútbol.

 

Martin se negó a tomar la bandera porque dijo "desconocer" el conflicto por las pasteras que afecta a la Argentina y al Uruguay, pero el movilero insistió hasta que una orden de su productor le hizo levantar la movida.

 

Después de ello, el líder de la banda, que suele compartir causas humanitarias como la lucha contra el hambre en Africa y un comercio más justo en el mundo, ya estaba de mal humor.

 

Pero se molestó aún más con una pregunta referida a qué cambios realizó Coldplay en su show entre Chile y Argentina, debido a las críticas de la prensa trasandina.

 

El cantante contestó que no sabía que el concierto en Chile había recibido malas criticas y repreguntó solicitando a los periodistas que precisaran qué medios habían publicado esos comentarios.

 

Un pregunta después, el compositor de Yellow puso en evidencia su molestia cuando afirmó: "Podés ser la banda número uno del mundo, vender millones de discos, pero el comentario de una sola persona puede destruirte".

 

Télam pudo saber que tras levantar la conferencia de prensa, los Coldplay le reprocharon a su manager no haberles informado que la prensa chilena calificó de "malo" su show.

 

"Me expusieron ante toda la prensa argentina, nadie nos informó que los chilenos dijeron que no les gusto el show", fue lo que le dijo Martin a su manager, según fuentes de la delegación.

 

Pero la performance de Coldplay el martes y el miércoles en el Gran Rex parecerían indicar que la banda sí sabía que la critica chilena había sido mala, ya que pusieron un fervor y un especial cuidado en que los conciertos argentinos fueran muy buenos.

 

Dos preguntas más tarde, los Coldplay volvieron a molestarse porque un periodista les pidió su opinión ante aquellos que decían que la banda "tiene muchas influencias de Radiohead y U2".

 

El baterista Champion negó tales influencias, aunque reconoció que como todos los grupos de rock hubo artistas en los que abrevaron mucho.

 

Finalmente, el agregado de Echo and The Bunnymen a la lista de influencias, dado que hay canciones de su banda que suenan muy similares al grupo de Ian Mcculloch, terminó de desagradar a Martin, quien despidió a todos y se fue.
