Haven't really watched any anime for years now, but i've just gotten into 'Beck: Mongolian chop squad', by recommendation from a couple of mates. They said it really made them want to start a band. Half way through and it is quite inspiring :guitarist:

 

I think that is finally getting a proper DVD release in the U.K. in a couple weeks time.

I might end up buying the dvds then. As long as its not a dub.

Of course it would be a dub, but as with other dvds, I bet you can switch to the original Japanese soundtrack with subtitles.

 

English dubs are getting better, if you watch some shows/movies from the early 90s the dub is way off, but lately they are getting better.

I watched some of the dubbed Evangelion on youtube recently and that put me right off. Funny because i quite liked the dub about 10 years ago.

Which version of NGE?

 

The original version or the recently released "platinum" version, which has a much better dub.

Think it was the original, with spike whatshisface as Shinji. Does this new version have different voice actors?

Not sure to be honest, I never researched the voice actors.

anyone here watching Mobile Suit Gundam Seed/Destiny?? kinda similar with NGE/FMA.

Does anybody know if there has been an English Dub boxset released for FMA, doesn't matter if it's region 1 or 2 (or 4)

I really don't watch much anime, but Paranoia Agent is amazing. Lots of "WTF" moments and a really intricate plot make it worth watching.

Lately, my favorite anime (and manga) is Death Note.

I also CLAMP mangas, like X 1999 or Tsubasa Chronicle, though now I think, they're a little too sweet. But, well. My manga "adventure" started with Clamp, so it's nice to watch it sometimes :P

FMA is also quite popular in Poland. I've watched anime and Cinema version. i liked both :P

Rahxephon is good, it took a couple episodes for me to get into it, but it's got a good story.

I started watching Love Hina last night, it was good :)

Last night I finished watching, Get Backers and Samurai Champloo.

 

Both serieses I would recommend

Samurai Champloo.

 

One of my favourites. The soundtrack is amazing, and is now part of my favourite music. (I mean, just listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKfit4dJabg ) :O

 

other than that I've watched:

- Naruto

- One Piece (AMAZING and funny show, though there are currently 353 episodes)

- Kenichi

- Death Note (^^ Love it)

 

and I'm currently watching Bleach, but I'm stuck at the amazingly boring fillers, which last for way too long.

That has to be some of the most intense moments I've ever spent in front of a screen I think. The scene where L and Light play tennis for example :o

 

Have you seen Elfen Lied? I have still got this to watch, but I started it like a year ago now. Supposed to be one of the best.

Have you seen any animes that made you laugh a lot?

After watching 350 episodes of One Piece which is some of the funniest stuff I've seen I would like another serie which makes me laugh. Anime humour is among the best.

Yeah. Took me half a year to see through, but that was without a doubt worth it.

I highly recommend it. You will be very pleased that the series is looking at at least another 200-300 episodes ^^

Many fans are afraid that they might not see the end of the series before they die.
