BIGGEST BLOWOUT: Arcade Fire decimates Death Cab for Cutie.

CLOSEST SHOWDOWN: Blur versus Snow Patrol

BIGGEST SHOCKER: There really can't be a shocker this time as all the matchups are quite close. I guess the fact that Canada, Scotland, Britian, and the United States are all represented in the quarter-finals is impressive.

I don't like this 'un! Arcade Fire is murdering Death Cab, but I think Death Cab's a ton better, despite the fact that "Wake Up" is my theme song :)!

I'm only going for The Beatles 'cause I dislike Radiohead. I wanted U2 to beat them, U2 is definitely better, so are The Beatles.

 

I don't listen to Sigur Ros, so Keane I guess...

A band I haven't particularly listened to against an over-rated band from Canada. By a quintillionth of a femto-point, I shall vote for Death Cab.

 

2 Blur vs. Snow Patrol

 

Blur were the best band of the 1990's, Snow Patrol started off well, but then turned into a soft-coldplay for the radio.

 

3 Radiohead vs. The Beatles

 

The So-Called "greatest band ever" against the band whom recorded 3 of the best albums ever. It's a toughie, but my vote goes for Radiohead.

Easy decision to make. Gotta love piano-rock

This is a very difficult choice, but I feel Arcade Fire has done more to advance music than Death Cab.

Another tough choice, considering the Beatles are the most imporant band of all time and Radiohead will go down in history as the most important band of all time after the Beatles. As much as I think Radiohead has transformed the meaning of music, it was The Beatles who gave us the modern song.

 

4 Sigur Rós vs. Keane

 

No one does good melodic songs the way Keane does. I like the ambient sound Sigur Rós has, but their actual songs could be better.

Ouchie! Yes, the Beatles are the Beatles. Legendary, revolutionary, awesome, and all round brilliant. But it's been nearly 40 years. Surely we can like something else brilliant and innovative after 40 years. Besides, as one person pointed out recently, their whole thing was "All you need is love."- and then they broke up. So, with plenty of reverence, I'm letting the past deal with itself and going with Radiohead.
