SOMEWHERE IN THE VAST EMPTINESS OF CANADA -- Canadian rock musician Neil Young announced today that Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin was "the worst rock singer ever."

 

"The guy can't carry a tune," said famous caterwauler Young. "Have you ever heard a live Coldplay recording? Listening to his voice is like listening to a frightened cat trying to escape a pit bull by clawing its way up a chalkboard."

 

Young made his shocking statement while being interviewed on a Canadian public radio program no one listens to. The interview took place two years ago and only came to light this week when a bored Toronto Coldplay fan Googled "Chris Martin Canada" in hope that the singer was touring the country on his own.

 

"I was like, 'who the hell's Neil Young?'" said 23-year-old Wendy Schlatt. "Then I Googled him and I was like, 'Oh, it's that dude that looks like a scarecrow and can't sing.' And then I was like, 'Man, that screecher dissin' Chris is like when that Jimmy Carter guy was talkin' trash 'bout that Bush dude. Like, wasn't Carter the worst American president, like, ever?"

There's a big difference between knowing who he is and knowing who makes the better music out of him and Coldplay. Furthermore, he should ashamed of himself for making such a comment in the first place. Certainly isn't likely to do his credibility any good, whatever way you look at it.;)

That comment was obviously fabricated by the magazine in order to make fun of Coldplay fans. The truth is, is that all Coldplay fans should at least have heard of Neil Young, because Chris often refers to him as the inspiration behind Yellow.

I really really respect and love Neil Young's music...but oh well it's funny that it's him who says something like that..

neil young is a inspirational artist..... a huge inspiration to chris martin as he has said.... and to all Canadians... he is a great musician and i dont agree with his comments but i do agree about the fact that he is aloud to say this. Again we dont have to agree with him but lets not start "sinking to his level" and dissing a very clever and successfull artist

Neither Chris or Neil have the greatest voices---passion is what counts. Hey I love Chris, but don't be dissing Neil-- OK:)
