I don't think so...they would already be in the promotional stages.

a new site in progress is maybe a first stage of promoting

nah, too soon

My vote is no, and to perfectly honest I wouldn't be upset if it is later than the 3rd.

i really am not going to get my hopes up for this at all because i have a feeling we're all going to be disappointed, but i must say that its a bit of a nice thing to have SOME word on a release date, even if it is unofficial and somewhat unrealistic. i mean, amazon.com must have gotten their information from SOMEWHERE semi-official, right? i dont think they just heard the date from some blog or something and decided to create a pre-order page based on crap info.

perhaps on the new site (WHENEVER THE HELL IT GETS UP), theyll put up an official date. maybe they decided to tell things like amazon and virgin and HMV etc. the date to get ready for it, but they'll officially announce the date on the new website?

i dont know what to think, but im not getting excited yet. if it comes out that it's DEFINITELY being released then, though, im going to wet my pants, because thats sooner than i ever even HOPED for.

Just been looking on the old coldplay forum and found this response from Debs on the 3rd sept release date:

Debs Wild "Nope, this isn't true. It's way too soon. Maybe the record label pencilled it in but as far as I know it's not out this year and was never planned to be. I can't see that decision changing to be honest but as always, we would announce the true facts on the official site (whether that be the new site or myspace)."

Cool new album

Amazon does these kinds of announcements all the time, they set the date by themselves, they did this with RH's new album too and haven't put it down even though , not even RH knows, when it's actually going to be realised and put in sales. ;)

Have you got a link to that please?

EDIT: Found it. Here's the link:

Looks like it was too good to be true after all...

I'm usually an optomist, but I checked no.

It seems too good to be true!! It's too soon, and it's not official yet. I want to hear Debs or the band to announce this! Hell, at this point I'll believe it if the story was on MTV. haha

But if it IS true--- WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO

*edit* I need to read more^

Oh well.

I also voted for the second.

If this new album will be that great, I think it will take a pretty long time to create and record it.

well for anyone that has seen the interview that chris martin did after a rush of blood tour.......he sed that he noticed that coming off tour really made them loose their feel about things.....the things that made them write good material.......stuff like heartbreak.....knwing what it is to be in love and not tell the woman lil stuff like that.......those r the emotions that produced parachutes.....i really dnt knw what they had in them when they produced AROBTTH but it brilliant......X&Y was okay.....but as much as i want the 4th album to come out right now......i rather they just wait a bit longer at least for them to make sure their fine with everything

I think they're making the same mystake as 4 years ago, when they posmonded the announced release date of "x&y", and capital records lost 15% on the share market....

I vote, it's false, too bad to be true... why? well, because it not be real, and if it be true then coldplay's 4th album would be worse... would be the same or worse than previous albums. Cos' I and other persons are tired of that coldplay monotonous. i refer to their music. specifically i refer to the short time they're going to release the 4th album.

Well I hope that being absolutely false

i think...

January the 20th 2008

Hmm... so supposedly they're planning to work for so much longer, yet apparently Brian Eno is off in Morocco with U2 recording some new stuff... just found this: http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/search/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003596089

So what does that mean? Are Coldplay done recording and just mixing now? Are they taking a break? Did it not work out with Eno? I can't help but wonder.

I don't think it's coming that soon either

but who knows, it only took a year for AROBTTH after Parachutes.... yeah, that's being to optimistic

isn't it funny how we're saying that it's not enough time? i watched the white stripes on jools holland and they said this is the longest they've taken on an album, 3 weeks... XD

yea ur right........so wheneva is wheneva.....this thread made me realize my life revovles around coldplay ive been checking the threads to see if there was any new info on the 4th album....this is not good

Anyone besides me ever get a little upset with how long it takes Coldplay to put out albums? Almost two years between Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head, three years between A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y, and now over two years between X&Y and Album 4.

I mean, just look back at The Beatles. They had A Hard Day's Night, six months later they had Beatles for Sale, a year later they had Help!, 4 months later they had Rubber Soul, then it was less than a year again for Revolver. I just don't get it.

I dunno. I think, particularly in the UK people got a bit coldplay'd out so it's good for them to go away for a bit and not be in people's faces all the time. Not so good for us however! LOL

I don't really mind so long as they come back with a really good album. Also I think Chris needs to lighten up a bit so if he could take the time to do that I'd be happy....

The Beatles stopped touring and only made records. Would you all want Coldplay to do that? I think not. Most of the time spent between records is spent touring. We'll get the damn thing when we get it. Whining from the back seat "are we there yet" will only make Chrissy want to turn this car around and go back home! :laugh3:

well put as usual m'dear ;)

besides they still need to be in the studio in late October as I will be in London and this will make finding Jonny soooooooo much easier. :D
