I saw him on TV a while back when a new edition of the DVD was coming out. He had a big mustache, I think. :o

 

I love this movie - it's one of my all-time favorites!! When I was a kid the part when they went through the tunnel with the shot of the chicken being decapitated scared me!

 

I remember there was talk a long time ago about doing a remake with Nicholas Cage starring. Now, I recently heard that Brad Pitt's and Jennifer Aniston's production company is interested in doing a remake, but I don't know who'll star. WHY????? Can't they just leave this classic alone? :x

i just saw that movie tonight... I heard Tim Burton is going to remake it soon...

sorry but i doubt they'd find anyone who could do gene wilders part anywhere near as good as him...

i don't think he lost it in planet of the apes - that was the fault of the escript writer and tim just not quite managing to pull it round - hes a director, not a script writer :)

Well, what I hope will happen is that they cast someone older, but very energetic, like Robin Williams as Willy Wonka. I hope they do Gene Wilder justice by bringing him back in the movie and casting him as Grampa Joe. If they gave Gene Wilder the part of Willy Wonka again, that would kick so much ass, but no one has ever remade a movie and cast the same guy as the same character. There's just no one who would be able to do as good as Gene Wilder. Robin Williams would definitely be the best candidate.

I love the oompa loompas, halloween two years ago i was on the street car with a couple friends and i saw this little person dressed up as an oompaloompa running after the street car, that was some funny shit.

Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was my favorite movie when I was little. I love the part where Veruca is singing her "I want it now!" song in the golden goose egg room.

Gene Wilder is genius. But Robin Williams would seem fitting. :)

i LOVE that part when veruca is singing about the gooses and geeses and the part when they are on the boat going through the tunnel, i agree that part scared the shit out of me but i love the little song that wonka sings.

robin williams would make an overboard willy wonka, but no one else could probably do it as well. they should switch the oompa loompas for the grunka lunkas :lol:

oh man, this movie trips me out everytime. there's got to be some real freaky things i'm missing. that whole boat scene is so messed. lol. the movie is cute though. i like the part where charlie gives back the gob stopper.

yeah actually scrap what i said about jim carrey - i didnt see the part where robin williams was in thr running 4 the role!
