Staying up late.

Featured Replies

I don't stay up late much.

I say that, but I'm coming off the back of 3 nights of staying up past 4am or so.

Late for me is like, 1am onwards. Because I generally try to at least go to sleep before then. I usually only stay up for basketball games, because of timezones they usually start over here at 1am. But it's not basketball season. On Thursday I stayed up until 7am reading the new Harry Potter book. I started it that afternoon and quickly realised that sleep would be useless if I hadn't finished the book, because I'd spent my dreams just thinking up the ending.

The next night I went to my friend Chris' house (it was his birthday today, I'd been there since Friday, only got home about an hour ago). Again, I stayed up until 7am. I actually went to Tesco at 3am, which is like... the craziest thing in the whole world. Have you ever been to a supermarket at that kind of time? It's amazing. You'd not recognise it.

But yeah, people complain about lack of threads and this is a thread inspired by someone writing somewhere that they stayed up late to watch a Coldplay concert on TV. What do you stay up for? Why? How often?

Etc etc etc.

Yeah, i usually stay up late. But that's only cause i have nothing better to do. And that staying up means using my pc and hopefully chatting with people, listening to music and all the usual stuff.

Sometimes i watch movies on tv or dvd. But there are usually no good movies on tv and i've seen all my dvd's waaay to many times already.

But i'm not half as bad anymore as i was last year when i could easily stay up till 8 am. And i did absolutely nothing else than was on coldplaying and listened to music and maybe watched vids on youtube, hahaha.

Pathetic

Am I the only person in the world who has nothing to do for ages but as soon as it hits midnight, finds a million things to do?

no, i'm sometimes like this.

i usually go to sleep at about 2 AM.

i stay up at weekends when i'm going out or just when i'm with my friends. i sometimes dont go to bed even though i'm really tired and i dont even know why. its stupid staying up for some film i'm not interested in or just stay in the internet till three or four in the morning but still i do it because i cant be bothered to go to sleep.

I was staying up extremely late almost every night. Usually until 3 in the morning. I can't do that anymore because I have practice pretty much every morning until school starts.

hahah! that is the best way to describe it.

except now that I live with my sister, we do those millions of things.

last night we stayed up until 2am doing laundry. Finished six loads and now all of our clothes is nice and fresh.

lately though, i have had more important things to do, so now it's later and later i stay up.

But it has been a while since I stay up late on coldplaying really really longs times and plant spam bombs with lore, or rick, or ahhhhhh! alyssa! good times

I used to stay up really late but now I can´t

I have the morning shift in my work,so I should sleep early all the days.

I really miss the good old days:confused:

I dont go to bed til like 3:30 in the morning in the summer. :P

It's really peaceful, because everyone at home is asleep. I can read or go online peace, and it's really relaxing.

i dont stay up late, need my sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stay up 'late' most friday & saturday nights, either online or more commonly watching a dvd. I don't normally hit the pillow and close my eyes til around half-1.

A couple times in the summer of 2003, I pulled a couple "all nighters" and avoided sleep.

I've been staying up pretty late the past few weeks....just because I work at McDonald's since some weeks and there I have to work in the evenings, too...so I come home around 2am...check the internet and in the end it usually is 2:30am.,..so this is my new "rhythm" (wrong spelling?) of which I can't get rid of....:bigcry:

like right now....I'm tired as hell....but I'll stay up listening to music and playing games on the net and boring stuff like that just because this is my new habit..

Oh yeah,so how are ya liking working for maccas?

DIRTY MACCAS!!!

last week i was awake until 3am at least because of the camp i was at. but usually i go to sleep at 1 am. but this august is gonna be tougher, because i started to work in a fancy restaurant and i'll have to be at work at 10am *g* and will be tired afterwards.

3 or 4 am at holidays is my usual. 1 or 2 at weekdays. That's considered early here. Hey, its Egypt, people don't sleep here :P

^ long hours can really take a toll on your body!

back in high school i could stay up really late as in 3am and even pull a couple of all-nighters but now, there is no chance. i'm in bed by 1am at the latest, midnight is my usual bedtime now. only during exam times do i summon the strength to stay up really late but that's in the most extreme cases.

right now it's 11pm and i'm already so sleepy - thank goodness tomorrow is friday

Yay for Fridays :)

Or more commonly known as Poets days

Well let's see my system is all messed up right now and I'm trying to get it back to normal.

I woke up at 7 on Thursday morning July 5 and ended up sleeping 'till 11 pm of Friday the 6. The next day after that on Saturday, got woken up at 6am and ended up sleeping 'til 4 am of Monday. The next day after that on Monday morning, got woken up again at 6am (So I only got like 2 hours of sleep) and ended up sleeping around 2 or 3am of the next day. The next day after that, got woken up again at 6am and ended up sleeping around 5am on Wed. Again 6am for Wednesday and then Thursday came around and by that time I had gone to sleep at 5am. I ended up waking up around 11:30am or so of Thursday. I remember I went to bed like around 9 pm then I got woken up at 2am of Friday the 13th. Then the 13th came around and I didn't sleep 'till Sunday morning. By that time, I was already sick and a mess. Had a little bit more of rest and sleep 'till Friday and the week that followed after it. The week after that which is the one we are currently on I have been getting some sleep but I end up finally sleeping around 3 am and I need to sleep earlier than that. My body is out of control which is probably why I've been paranoid lately and crying and just very bad but I think it's from those restless days that I had. I didn't even eat right on those days. I'm still a litlte sad but I think I'll be okay in the next couple of weeks. I think I'll be okay by September, hopefully :/

I get into shocking habits during the holidays like staying up past 3am every night and they usually continue when school begins too. On school days I try to go to bed before 12:30 but I usually don't fall asleep til at least 2am and then I have to get up at 7am in the morning, which sucks.

My body has gotten used to waking up at 7:00 now, even at weekends :(

It's annoying

Over the summer I stay up til like 7am. I once stayed up until 9am, that's not healthy. I have no idea why I stay up so late [or early, ahaha]. Well, yeah I do. I like to stay up that late because my family isn't up to bother me. :dozey: That's the main reason. I can go to the kitchen and eat what I want when I want, Watch whatever's on tv, etc. etc. I don't have nagging from my parents and my neice isn't up to harrass me. I like the night because it's so quiet and peaceful, and I can do whatever or just sit and think, without any interruptions.

does anyone just not bother getting out of bed somedays?

I do like staying up until late and I usually do it when I know that the day after I've got nothing major to do. I can't figure out WHY but I enjoy a lot doing stuff at night, especially being on the internet, when my parents are sleeping. One of the things that I love doing is watching vids on youtube, with my headphones on, of course. Maybe the darkness or the silence of the night helps me to focus on what Im doing.

What's more, during the night-time I have an energy that I dont have when I wake up - by then Im spiritless.

And yes, I know how it feels going to a place (Tesco in your case) where there're loads of people during the day. One Monday morning - it was about 6am - I came back home walking in some streets that are usually overcrowded but that at that time were empty. There was no-one but me, either traffic. It was a crazy feeling!

I might be doing a late night next week, as I'm off thursday & friday

where are ya off to?
