I HATE Algebra 2. And Im taking an honors class.

Ok, to the point: I will be REALLY grateful if anyone can help me with these problems. :confused: I failed the test and the teacher is letting us do corrections to get a higher grade.

 

 

1) x+a +b= a Solve for a

b

 

2) a-c = m Solve for a again. :confused:

not done it in a fair few years: erm, *b so: ab=x+a +b (or is it b^2) then erm -a so x+b = ab-a, THEN summet with /b...wait, this is tricky

 

 

i alwys just try to work backwards (DAMN YOU ALEVEL MATHS, you let me down :( )

i think you should state clearly the values for the other variables where a is defined.

i mean, for the first problem;

      x+b²
a =  -------      where x,b € R and b /= 1 (b not equal to 1)
       b-1

and for the second one;

     mx + c
a = -------    where m,c,x € R and m /= -1
     1 + m

 

because otherwise "a" would be undefined and the problem couldnt be solved for "a"..

i think the best subjects in maths are algebra and integrations and their inverse thing of which i don't know the name. :smug:
