Do students in halls get their food nicked?

Featured Replies

Like i'm going in a week or so right

and i was just wondering if people raid others cupboards and eat their butter or whatever

please tell me your student related stories

They certainly do. You have to make sure everything's under lock and key.

It depends on the time of the month.

The best bet is to buy yourself a little fridge to keep in your room for some stuff, but if you can work out a way to spilt the shopping for essentials (bread. milk etc) than do. No point in 4 people having 4 bottles of milk open at the same time.

no students related stories here yet...

but i will tell you soon... :)

you scared me :uhoh:

i will keep my room locked (when i won't be there), and the key with me all the time... :uhoh:

But then you can easily fall prey to the "phantom milk guzzler"!!

And make sure your door has an unbreakable padlock on it!!;)

No funky student stories here as I bypassed Uni for the time being.

not really - at least here. but they do take your food if you're not too quick when it comes out. :p

I the problem of the chefs taking food out of the store without telling me

Crook cooks??:stunned:

Nope, just a lack of a decent system to take hot air away from the store :(

The army won't install anything as in 6 months the entire place will be re-built.

does anyone have a secret supply in their room

and had it overrun with rats/spiders/other scary things

which reminds me

on holiday we saw a rat by the riverside but it looked dead

we went closer and it was blinking and didn't move

it was yuck

i think it was suffering from heat stroke

we then walked off

I have a place in my bedroom where I normally put some sweets to munch on when in my room.

You should have flogged it to the nearest Chinese restaurant!!

People didn't really in my old flat. But they did steal my kitchen equipment to use....like my glasses and saucepans. Just see what the people are like first, maybe keep your cupboard locked to begin with, and then if you see that they're ok.... leave it open.

There were two guys who were supposed to be friends, and one made a chocolate cake with his girlfriend. left it in the kitchen, and his friend took some without asking. then other people found some of the cake in a bathroom bin. Weird.

well i thought it was an entertaining story

i try to be true to my name

Yes - you definitely live up to the moniker "Spamela"......................

a girl from my uni complained about this recently. i dont know, i dont live in the halls, they're way too expensive in my opinion.

how come you're only just moving in next week? i thought uni started at the same time everywhere

people in our flat usually take each others food but everyone agrees with it. theres no point in everyone buying their own butter or milk. however if i bought something special they wouldnt just take it.

i start on the 30th

some people are there already

while others go on saturday

so it does vary

I start classes on Monday.

But I'm living at home.

Northumbria Uni is a 20 min bus ride from my home.

I'm doing Internet Computing, more so because I don't really know what I want to do, so I picked something I'm good at.

I'd probably be suprised if I do more than the one year, though. Hoping to find something I actually want to do.
