No, USA has never won anything on Mexico, just one tie and a necktie. But Mexico lost like 10 matches on a row against US before Gold Cup

My country plays in less than 5 miutes!:bomb:

why the disappointed face?!?!? :p

:dozey:

Lol, they did not even had a chance. I mean, the Azteca is quite impressive, besides, they were slow and clumsy.

I agree, uhm... I kinda developed a crush on USA's #3, Bocanegra... :wink3: from the moment i saw him singing the national anthem.... :uhoh: anyways... celebratory dance b/c MEXICO WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I root for England's national team anyway since America fucking blows and England has the most bad ass players.

We fucking beat Spain. I don't care if its twenty years later and we've fallen to 200th place in the world. We fucking beat Spain, and fucked up a 2-0 lead against Brazil in 2009. Anyway, we're only five spots behind england.

I agree that it was an epic victory, but ever since World Cup 2006 I've been pulling for England. I bought merchandise and shit man.

Shit this is a spam post because I have 4,666 right now.

lol, really? I confess in the 2002 world cup I was rooting for Germany against America in the Quarterfinal for some idiotic reason.

I completely forgot about the matches today until I saw the highlight reel on espn while hanging out with my brother and his friend at a local brewery. I'm not too surprised we lost to Mexico, but I'm both sad and very surprised that El Salvador lost to Trinidad!

I am so pissed off... we had no luck, even though my team played better on the 2nd half :disappointed:... but this new guy Arturo Alvarez is pretty good, didn't see him playing last week against Colombia, next match against USA *sigh* we're so gonna lose!

:o WHAT WHY?!?!

So, here in the US, where do we watch the World Cup? Back in '06 i was summer vacationing in Mexico and caught all the action down there. I need to know what channels i need to tune into...

It'll be on ESPN lol.

I fucking hated people jeering at US national anthem,If mexicans want their national symbols respected they ought to show respect as well. I booed the US team, and I cheered Mexico obviously but those jerks throwing beer to US fans that were brave enough to go to the Azteca and to the US players was just wrong. And those idiots throwing stones to the american embassy and "celebrating" at El Angel (A monument to mexican indepence and memorial to heroes), causing more traffic and damage to the monument should be the ones stoned.

LOL, America isn't that isolated. Pretty much all the group matches (yes including games that don't include the U.S.) are on The ESPN and ABC networks. I remember getting up at five in the morning and watching several games in a row. The U.S. matches actually get as much hype as things like the World Series, so its not exactly easy to miss.

Guys I think you should give up and continue with your national sport, which is also the best sport in the world.

Were you actually at the game? if so, sweet!

And yeah, great sport events have a habit of getting out of hand, and soccer/football is notorious for stuff like that. As far as anti-american anti-any country sentiment goes, people need to disassociate and stop judging populations of people by their governments or leaders. We're all human beings.

We have a national sport?

Agreed.

if you mean baseball, I'm pretty sure the NFL is actually more popular these days. Not that I don't love American Football, but its not as beautiful or international as futbol.

Yea I enjoy watching college (American) football. I even have season tickets for my favorite team (Ranked #7 this year baby), but nothing beats the pride and glory of winning a world cup.

Just the fact that its four years for one single tournament of the most universally accessible sport, a title the whole world cares about and acknowledges is really f-ing cool.

Baseball is the best sport ever invented.

That really happened? :shame:

Yes, if you watched the game it was really notorious :\ you couldn't hear nothing of the music :disappointed: I just kind of remeber US national anthem bears resemblances with French one, so I got an idea somehow :P

Exactly, that's what some don't understand, some mexicans are assholes, even with other mexicans. However, Mexico's hate towards USA is waaaaaaaaay earlier (meh whatever big fish eats the little one) than George W. Bush. But just 'cause I hate their government doesn't mean I hate the american people, they are like the kindest and most polite people in the world, I've never had a problem with US citizens here nor in your country. Except with some police in the border, that sadly were mexican-americans.

I can't stand baseball. The constant stoppage of play is a drag. Plus you have to watch 12 pitches before someone finally hits the ball, and when they do the 2nd baseman catches it and tosses it to the first baseman for an out. Zzzzzz

Remember the Alamo! :P

oh shit I missed a comma over there *goes and fixes grammar mistake*

I find it to be the most interesting, amusing and intelligent sport after aztec random wars to get prisoners for ritual sacrifices.

If they want to make it more exciting, they should lower the pitching mounds or push them back. More hits = more excitement = more fans.

Yeah, as a kid I much preferred the constantly moving pace of soccer and roller hockey to baseball. I still watch the world series and even follow the red sox sometimes since my sister's boyfriend and former roommate were avid fans (I've also seen a game at fenway park and it was amazing!), but the season is too long and the action too dry for me to really get into the game. Its partially due to the fact the nearest major team is the Atlanta Braves (and last time I checked they suck).

Football (Americano) is stop and go, but every snap effects the game, while foul ball + foul ball + foul ball + flyout just isn't something I can watch for too long.
