Considering that I've never seen this and that the debate still rages on about LP4 being called Prospekt or not, I don't think this has been posted before.

 

I found this on the Coldplay Official Facebook Group, which Debs Wild herself created and writes in:

"Travis .... the album will NOT be called Prospekt. The name did initially have relevance to the album, but not anymore. It's a pseudonym, if you will, of the person who writes the studio journals."

If this still continues to be true (it was written a few months back), I'm quite happy! I was never really a fan of Prospekt being the album title. I was hoping for something more...original and less cheesy than just an altered spelling of a word. But, of course, it's the MUSIC that matters, not the title. Even if it's just called Coldplay (I'm hoping for more creativity, personally), as long as it's kick-ass, I don't care about the title!

Yep, I've known this for quite a while too, but when I hear people calling it Prospekt all the time I just see it as a nickname used for lack of any other title. Thanks for clearing it up though!

The song "Prospekt's March" was on the list of possible songs for the album, so i wonder if this is still on the list because Debs said that the name prospekt doesn't have any relevance to the album.

I think 42. You guys on coldplaying.com once wrote about '42' as a title ... I think it's most likely to be a title of new album :)

I always said that the title will be '42'...and Ian knows this fact! :)

Since all we can do is speculate at this point, can we also speculate as to whether Debs KNOWS the title of the album? She knows its not called Prospekt. I'm tired of being patient - they need to throw us a bone - us addicts can't hold out much longer :laugh3:

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that he was signing his name. I don't understand why anyone even decided that's what the album was going to be called.

Yeah, it's weird, because I always figured it was just that.

Great. Now some people will stop saying I've misplaced my marbles. I've been saying quite a lot that there's no evidence it was gonna be called "Prospekt".

 

Sometimes I get the impression that we can't really trust what Debs says, but anyway...

The name Prospekt got loose around the world on radio, but like I said before, just because everyone picks up on a rumour, that doesn't make it true. Debs may or may not know what the title is, but I'm sure by now she'd know if it's not Prospekt, which I never thought was the title.
