Does Retail Therapy work for you?

Featured Replies

I've noticed a lot of people enjoy shopping as a means to make them happy... whether it be clothes, books, dvds, gadgets, cameras...etc....

But this doesn't really work for me. I don't really enjoy shopping. I don't enjoy spending money I don't have on things I don't really need. In fact the only time I like browsing is in charity shops - maybe it's because I can justify buying a £1 book ...

anyway...does retail therapy work for you?

Yes, it makes me feel sooooo happy to feel confident in what I'm wearing!

I love shopping  Especially shoes ... and dresses.

it doesnt make everything better for me, to buy something when i feel down, but it kinda worked a bit yesterday. i'd been eyeing this one bag and i had such a bad day that i just went in and bought it. i felt a bit better for a while.

Buying a nice shirt and SHOES(!) and all makes me feel happy for a little bit...but at the end of the day I still feel the same way I do.

If it were a book or a movie, it might be different, because once I enjoy reading/watching it, it might make me feel better about my feelings and make me contemplate.

I like shopping.. but it's not my favorite thing to do...

Good idea, reading a book should help. I just bought this new one called 'The Last Days'- it's about a rock band with a vampire for a leadsinger :P

shopping is fun sometimes when you know what you want but it's blah when you see awesomely nice clothes and then when you try them on they look like poo :/

cameras are fun though, BUT EXPENSIVE........I want to buy a polariod camera

I want a cool camera, because the one I have is really cheap. Retail therapy doesn't always work for me, only every now and then...

unfortunately that happens to me all the time, boo.

or then they're just a bit too expensive and after some thinking i almost every time come to the conclusion that i don't actually NEED it..so i won't buy it.

Plus i never have enough money to actually just buy whatever i want! I always check the price first :P

And i feel bad after i've bought clothes..i don't know why! but i just always get the feeling that i used the money on something useless..

hell yeah, it helps a lot.

just the feeling you get when wearing new stuff that looks good on you - that is priceless.

Hate shopping in general, but shoe-shopping is a completely different story.

Shoes, glorious shoes!!!
