What Songs Will Always be on The Setlist

Featured Replies

i think Low, a message, a rush of blood to the head, daylight,Sparks(Well i was watching wedding crashers just a few minutes before and Sparks came up i blushed:kiss:that's my favorite song ever),many parachutes songs like Spies,

these are not played over and over again....:(

i feel so sad....for that....

Going on what I expect Album 4 to sound like, Low and Spies would fit really well.

I'd love Twisted Logic to be the last song before the encore, I can't wait to see that played live one day. I've got a feeling that'd be mega spine-tingling.

what about warning sign? i know a good bit of my friends that like coldplay love that song. i know its not something that would be a regular in their normal setlist but its still a great song. what do ya'll think?

They'll always do Yellow and Clocks!

I wouldn't mind if they would drop all X&Y songs for their next tour, I'd rather hear older songs and the new ones ofcourse :)

I think they might try to renovate their concert experience in a few ways.

1. Naturally, play the new songs from the upcoming album.

2. Whip out some songs that were not often played on previous tours. ("Shiver", "X&Y", B-sides)

3. Play familiar songs in new ways, like acoustic or punk renditions.

However, they'll still have to keep certain parts of the show the same, or some fans will cry bloody murder. As such, "Yellow", "The Scientist", and "Clocks" will probably receive the same treatment as they always have.

On another note, I just realized that it's been so long since I've heard "Square One" that I've literally forgotten what it sounds like.

I like number 3, playing old songs in new ways! :)

I like the rocky version of trouble on the Live 2003 DVD, but I don't think all fans will like it. I think the safest way to do something in a new way is to do it acoustic, but playing on the safe cards all the time might get boring, i hope they will surprise us!

I love the fact that at Glastonbury 2005 practically everyone there went mad at the "So I crawl back into your arms!!!" bit in Warning Sign - no reason for them not to go mad for it it, Warning Sign is a great song, but it never seemed to strike me as being as anthemic as maybe Yellow or "They spun a web for me!!!" in Trouble. I love that.

So for that reason, I say keep Warning Sign! Currently my favourite Coldplay song.

Also, A Whisper doesn't seem to get mentioned much - not a bad opener or number 2 in the set(although I'd much prefer an Album 4 track to open!) - the guitars come in like a bang, I think like total darkness and silence and then bang, lights, "a whisper, a whisper".... "I HEAR THE SOUND......" Although it doesn't seem to be one of the more popular Coldplay songs so maybe not a good idea - I'd just like to see it played live and see what they do with it.

heh, I what I've seen they've only played a whisper once live. It's not made to be live the strings and the outro probably get pretty sketchy.

Also they almost never played warning sign during the AROBTTH tour. I'm not completely sure why, I know it was one song Chris didn't want to keep on the album...

Definately clocks, yellow, in my place, the scientist, speed of sound, talk, and fix you. But the majority will be the new material.

Hopefully GPASUYF and White Shadows (my favorites) :D, shiver, trouble

*edit* And HOPEFULLY square one, low, and everything's not lost.

They have a lot of good songs to choose from. :D
