What Do You Wanna Be When You Grow Up?

^^That's good, Justin! :D

I'd like to pursue a career in journalism. I already write for my school and community, so baby steps!

thanks, i'm beginning to believe all those things now as well :D. but i've decided in the past few months that i'm only going to quit working towards film if i end up destitute in a trailer outside of LA with an ancient laptop and have to steal wifi from the nearest starbucks. that might be a clear sign that it's not working out :laugh4:

and animation sounds awesome. if i was a better artist i would love to do that, but the only thing i can draw is a yellow submarine, so that's pretty much out. i think with the right training i could become somewhat competent at computer stuff, though.

we ought to combine our efforts, semy :P. and i'll see you on the set of a blockbuster movie someday

That would be awesome if it ever happens, haha. Gah, too bad the yellow submarine was already done by the beatles nearly 40 years ago! Too slow :P

Yeah, by computer stuff I assume you mean special effects, editing, 3d modelling etc. If you're willing to spend time checking that stuff out, it could be really helpful to you in the future. Although I get the impression that you're leaning more towards the writing / direction side of film making, in which case you're strengths should really be creative writing and such, which you're probably already very good at :)

Anyway I'm rambling again, but a combined effort sounds like a cool idea :P

Just come up with a story and I can have a go at bringing it to life through animation. We'll showcase it and the industry will snap us up without hesitation

Ok maybe a little too ambitious, but we can dream cant we?

Well, I asked my Dad and he said I could be a one-man movie crew. He said that I'm good at creative writing, that I am a really intense actor, that I can direct orders rather well, that my computer skills could help me with producing, all that stuff. But I really want to be the next George Martin, the only music producer that everyone knows about. Really, if I can be the producer for even some small inde bands, it would be fine by me. But to be renown is what I'm going to aim for

yeah, that's what i meant by computer stuff :D. it's always interested me, but i pretty nuch suck at even photoshop now, so who knows if that can go anywhere. i'd definitely prefer to be on the writing/directing side of things. i wouldn't say i'm great at creative writing, but i'm getting there! coming up with ideas is always the hardest part for me by far. once i have an idea, off i go ;)

of course we can dream! our animated film will be the best thing since...well, i don't know what, but the animation will beat ratitouille! (sp?)

when i was a little kid back in elementary school i always wanted to become a fashion designer. funny thing is that i wasn't even that interested in fashion back then. i just thought that it's a pretty cool job to design clothes and dress models.

then in grade 6/7 i wanted to become a pathologist. i liked the investigative side of that job, though i knew i could never "work" with dead bodies and all that stuff.

so from grade 8 on i thought of becoming a journalist. not sure what kind of journalist, though. i just think that i'm pretty good at writing and doing research and interacting with people. i'm very interested in motorsports and in fashion. i know, those two sections won't be combined, but anything in that direction would be nice! :nice:

I'll always have in mind our dreams of sharing a flat together while writing for a publication!! :D

I'd actually like to be sports journalist, so we can be a team!

right, Annie.

see you in 2010! :nice:

hahahaha, we should really hold on to our dreams. i mean, most people end up in a job they never thought of. it'd be cool to be someone's rep, though, or someone's PA.

Yes I'll definitely see you sometime in the future, Grace! :nice:

And Justin, that's so great! Actually, I writing about soccer would be pretty amazing! I love writing in general, but soccer's the only sport I would find interest in writing about, lol.

I wouldn't mind writing about political sciences and all that jazz, either. Fashion as well.

Studying for teacher now!

4 years left!! I think it would be great to have my own class

My dream is to become a journalist or some sort of writer and get to travel the world and learn and interview people. Though it seems like a lot of people here have the same dream :P

Yay! you can join our journalist team:D

When I was little, I wanted to be an artist b/c I loved drawing. But my dad said I have to go to school for healthcare or he won't help me pay for it. He said this when I mentioned studying music.

So now I figure out Coldplay songs late at night on piano or guitar when everyone else is sleeping....

On a BRIGHTER note....

I can't wait to see Coldplay! This is my dream for 2008. I had a feeling this would be a good year, but I thought it was gonna be b/c I would make some changes for the better in my life. Like get my own place, get a better job,...etc etc. But maybe my premonition had to do with the new Coldplay album and seeing them in concert? I don't know yet, but we shall see! ( I can still make those positive changes too :))

I wanna be a professional musician. Fingers-crossed lol.

Otherwise, probably end up being a teacher of english and history.

I would like to be a sound engineer . . .

I'm trying to enter in some schools in France . . . But that's so difficult !

12 places for 350 students :dozey:

Hope hope !!!

^ same here

i would like to teach foreign languages.

I would like to be teacher at a primairy school..for kids like 8/9/10 years old.

Although i like english/german and math a lot too..

they're soooo difficult to calm down when they're 9/10! but they're sweet :)

I want to be a translator. Nothing else. I want to go to Brussels and work as a translator, not interpreter.

^i think you're well on your way! your english is INCREDIBLY good. (then again, i'm assuming you want to be a translator of english, but that may be a dumb assumption ;)) actually, most peoples' english is absolutely spectacular on here, but seriously, if you didn't have your little slovenian flag up and i didn't know you were from there, i'd honestly think you were american or british! people on here put me to shame that i only really speak english with only bits of spanish, french and arabic. i feel like a slouch!

Thank you so much, Chelsea! :nice: Yea, I do want to be a translator of English, but also French (but I'm not too good at it :(). I just hope my dreams will come true, otherwise I don't know what I'll be doing. I certainly don't want to be a teacher. :\

I wanted to be a psychologist for a long time.

Right now I'm bent on being a musician.

But who isn't at some point...? :P
