My city is a crazy place

Featured Replies

Yup, that's right. During the last 2 weeks 3 people have been stabbed.

The first one to get stabbed was a police officer when some drunky violent man stabbed him when they were caughting him. Some big arteries got cut and he almost died.

That wasn't such a weird thing.. i mean, that happens to cops everywhere, right?

But this next thing was really shocking to me. There was some fighting last weekend between some teenagers. And in the result of that two guys got stabbed and the other one almost died.

When i first read about that i was shocked, of course, but i was even more shocked when a friend of mine called me last night and told me that the two guys who got stabbed were some people i know. My old classmate and a friend of his almost died because of an idiot guy decided to attack them.

I'm not going to tell the whole story here but my ex-classmate got hit to his back with an fucking axe! an axe! And he got cut to his leg and to his face from a knife too.

And then this other boy...well, he got a knife into his lungs and it actually got broken in him, 20cm knife in his lungs.. and they had to do a surgery right away and remove half of his lung or something. They said that he's actually very lucky to even be alive. He also got hit by a knife to his shoulder and he might never be able to use that hand again because the nerves got so badly cut.

Then there is also this girl who saw all this happen and she got really shocked and tried to kill herself last weekend because of it and now she's in a hospital too.

And all this because this guy who decided to attack on them tried to call his ex-girlfriend (who was with my friends) and my friend answered the phone and told him to stop calling to her anymore. Then someone laughed on the background and the guy who called thought they were laughing at him. So he got mad and went to that place with several knives, axes and baseball bats and just started to hit them..

Now the ones who attacked my friends are in jail.

They are only 16 or 17 years old. So young and they already ruined their lives!

How stupid can a human be??

Never thought this kind of things could happen anywhere near to where i live or to people i know..

Blah, i don't care if someone reads this or not. I just had to write it down.

That's so awful!

I know how you feel, Philly has the highest homicide rate in America, so when I always hear tragedies that go on here. :(

ouch. that guy has some serious problems.

i'm sorry that your friends got hurt ... but at the same time i'm glad that they managed to survive!

but .... it's so scary :S

oh my god. that's really crazy. your better sit at home and never go out!

We have just as much crime here, recently there was someone lurking around a park randomly assaulting people, one lady that was riding her bike, got thrown over a bridge, then her bike was thrown on top of her.

Plus there has also been heaps of murders in the last few months, police are useless.

The use of an axe is really bizarre. Yikes. I understand you concern and grief. People are insane!

I am very saddened to hear that news. I truly hope your classmates are doing well after all that trauma - what a shock!

I can only say, that's happened here as well - less than a year ago, I know someone who had been stabbed in a little town near where I live, all because he had teased someone that he took their job (as a cook) in a restaurant. It was just nuts - over something like that?! Tom got lucky that the knife didn't hit any vital organs. This fellow who went berserk was from the "projects", and apparently grew up in gangs.. That's no excuse, but it does fit a pattern of behavior that sometimes arises when someone grows up in a rough setting, with the wrong influences. I have a friend who grew up there as well, but turned out just the opposite - nicest person you would want to meet. But he tells of some awful tales while growing up there.

I hope your classmates are getting well after all that - that's some pretty rough trauma to be going through.

Well, i don't think there's a lot of violence over here. Especially not in my city. So it's just really weird to see something like that happen here too

oh my god that's really scary.. there are just many insane people out there..that assaulter sounds really scary :stunned:

Yup most of the crime here is committed by Pacific Islanders and Maori.

When you get results like this:

One in five 15-year-olds in Southampton have carried a knife at some point, a police study reveals.

It gets worrying

1/5??? Oh my god! Is it really so? can that even be...??

Why on earth would so many 15-year-olds carry a knife with them?

My guess is that it gets to a point where it is 'cool' to carry a knife around with you, although in fights if you pull a knife out on your 'attacker' and if your attacker is stronger, and manages to get the knife, your in trouble.

I'm sure in the USA they carry guns instead of knives.

Prob, as America's gun control rules are so relaxed.

Surprising there are any left.

thats bad.. but the resort to using guns in Manchester to sort these petty differences out..

one of the many reasons why I left manchester..

These things don´t tend to happen here... that much.. they still do though.

I hope your friend gets better soon...
