Ms Magpie
I'm really interested in it. Also, what are you available to do before you're of age? You know, driving cars, drinking etc. ... ?
Rad-Cold
Mostly 18. We may smoke/drink alcohol when we are 16. we are alowed to drive scooters when were 16. And when were 18 we have to pay our own bills, school etc.. and we are alowed to drive then. I almost have my driving license!
Ms Magpie
18 here, too ... people can drive a simple motorcycle when they're 14, and start learning how to drive when they're 16 or so. but usually it's when they're 18 that they start taking lessons (official ones, that is). people can buy/drink alcohol only when they're 18, the same goes with cigarettes (the purchase), but as a non-smoker, i'm not sure bout that. Petit Prince
well doesnt really make a difference to be honest. most kids just make someone else buy it for them. as for driving i dont really mind. 17 or 18 seems alright.
Ms Magpie
you've got the point. that's probably happening everywhere.
Petit Prince
true. some shops got a weird policy. you gotta show your idea if you dont look 21. its so annoying. i still gotta show my ID pretty often. i hate looking younger than i am.
Ms Magpie
you got to do that here too, when you're trying to buy booze and if they don't belive you're 18. or in bars. but it rarely rarely happens. they dont care.
busybeeburns
most kids in the UK can do all of the above and more by the age of 7.
ApproximatelyInfinite
yeah, as justin said, it varies in the US. you can vote and are considered a legal adult at 18, but can't drink until you're 21 (i used to think this was kind of ridiculous, but i believe in it more and more every day, even though the age makes pretty much no difference in the amount of alcohol consumed). for driving, it varies state to state, but in most states you can get a permit at 16 and a liscense soon after that. some states you can get a permit at 15, and other states are trying to push the whole driving thing back to 18. i'm glad i got in before those laws get passed! winigwl
as long as i get my license at 17, they can do whatever the hell they want:smug:
Starlight
Hehe I honestly don't really care about the driving age, I don't plan on driving in the future anyways! :P No point of driving in the city...

zeoir
It's 18 here too. You get to vote, buy alcohol, buy smokes, driving license... pretty much all that once you turn 18 But you can drive a scooter/small motorbike ( don't know what they're called in english) once you turn 15. KissesBirds
Voting-18 Driving-15 Drinking-18 Weed-anytime. Off topic, but since you are in Germany, my dad has a German driver's license from before he came to America. So that's like 47? years ago. He wants to know if he can still use this license if he visits Germany. He thinks they don't need to be updated for some reason. Sounds rediculous to me, but I really have no idea. Thanks!
