sorry but i really want people to read it and respond to my opionions and views. i dont think i will be posting anything pre-2008 as im sure there are dozens of sites dedicated to that

did you hav to put all the posts into the same thread i wouldn't of minded if u just closed off the extra threads. i look like a complete idiot now (some people might feel that way even more so after reading my blog)

nonetheless most people here seem very nice. i've been a huge contributor to a chili peppers forum for the past two years but things are getting a little bit tense over there so im over here now.

i've made a couple more posts on the blog here's a small preview

Tracklisting Released

before i say anything else let me get some things straight. it is down right impossible to judge any album from the titles of the songs and the order in which they are going to appear so this announcement tell us very little about the album itself. on top of this announcement the band has promised us a "couple" of singles before the release of the album which is great news as it means that we will most probably being hearing some new songs by the end of the month or early in May (either 'Yes' or 'Violet Hill' or '42'). Despite the rather superficial nature of this news i still do have a couple of issues.

first the fact that the album will only have 10 songs and will run for a rumoured 42 minutes. this is significantly shorter than previous records. Being a long time Linkin Park fan short albums don't bother me that much (their first two albums combined are just over an hour). what irritates me is that this album has taken over a year to record and a band of Coldplay's calibre i feel should be churning out more than 10 good songs in a year (assuming that they are all good). of course i didn't expect a 'Wall' style double album epic but i would think that the band would give me more than 10 songs for my $15. making the album so short has only added pressure on the band on top of the delayed release and 'new sound'. at this point the music world expects nothing short of a masterpiece. Radiohead's In Rainbows album was only 10 tracks and in my opionion is one of the best albums of the decade. hopefully Coldplay give us something on par with that. but according to Billboard there will be a hidden track on the album called 'Escapist'. i personally think that hidden tracks are the stupidest idea to ever hit music.

I really hope that the band and its management increase the frequency of announcements such as this one. There's nothing better for album releases than media attention. since its been close to two years since 'The Hardest Part' was released most people have moved on from the band (except of course the hardcore fans) so it will take (once again) Radiohead like antics to generate the right amount of hype over the release.

Hi! Welcome to Coldplaying! I read your blog and voted. Chili's on hiatus... too bad! You are from the land down under? I like Silverchair, saw them last year here in Orlando... they are maturing also with their music reaching out. Heh, also a big RH fan and they took over my listening while CP was dormant. Saw RH twice in Fla two weeks ago. Excellent!!!!! Will be seeing them again in NJ in Aug. Yes, they have also matured in their music. It is a big summer of music for me, will be seeing CP in Philly, Orlando, possibly MSG (the freebie) and maybe one more time in Miami (have not decided on this one). But yes, you have come to a good place! Viva La Coldplay, as one of my fellow CP'ers has said! :)

thank you very much for voting on the blog (i hope you stay true to your word and continue to read it) basically right now im trying to compress and summarise all the news and events that pop up on here. save people from having to sort through this jungle of a forum (stil very cool).

at the moment i'm just keeping things simple on there as my exams are only a matters of days away. but after that i'll try and make it as informative as possible.

by the way airieslady im very glad you still enjoy silverchair, sadly they couldn't maintain their popularity in the states but we still love them down here in aus. i've been thinking about making another blog near the end of the year about all my favourite bands (there are dozens of them) but first i need to accumulate a bit of a following through my coldplay blog.

note that i have added another post today

Just so you know, Datchforum in Milan is where Depeche Mode recorded their last DVD (Touring the Angel), it's really the most popular arena in Italy

I didn't know it was the smallest one in their European tour tough :stunned:

oh and they're popular in Italy, but it's not italian fans who choose how many dates a band should play here, actually people are complaining we had "only" two (and both in Northern Italy) :laugh3:
