Fixed
Embrace have retired :shocked2: :( They haven't retired, but first they said they'd start recording in 2007, then they said this year, then Danny said next year. Danny just seems to keep putting it off and is concentrating on his DJing more at the moment :(
Flying Sparks
I'd love to see MGMT opening. Would kinda fit. Doves - would be lovely, too. The Ting Things would be damn cool, and they're a UK band as well.
BethWhalley
I'd love Newton Faulkner to do it :) Orrrrrrrr Ron Sexsmith.. and then he and Chris could do Gold in Them Hills :D:D

Dejan
Muse or The Killers I would kill to have them supporting CP! they are too big to "open" for another band, even a big one like coldplay
Hyphin
hahahah. Cass, i remember Black Mountain opening for Coldplay in Toronto. That was hilarious. I mean...they arent bad. And I found it refreshing to see them giving a Canadian Band a chance. But I wanted to see Richard Ashcroft. Sue me.
Hyphin
I can see Snow Patrol opening. That would be sick.
CuriousStrength
Stereogum's comment board relays rumors for Tapes 'n' Tapes, New Pornographers and Vampire Weekend. In terms of buzz and fanbase, I'd say they are about on par with Rilo Kiley's position in '05. My fingers are crossed for any of them, because I would have something to lob back at my Coldplay-hating, indie-hipster "friends". It would be awesome to see New Pornos, too. polkahard
VAMPIRE WEEKEND. Exactly what I was thinking...and ironic they're mentioned in the post before me. With the exception of Coldplay, they're the only band I've been listening to lately. Absolutely amazing.
Cobalt
Vampire Weekend, Elbow, I reckon they could do it, they're all up and coming as far as I'm concerned Snow Patrol, just no. Muse and The Killers, both are too big to be supporting. Those who suggested Radiohead... -_________-. They would never open, especially for the CP boys. Marisa
For as much as I'm paying to get a good seat, I hope there is an exceptional opener like Travis or a 2 hour plus long set from Coldplay.
mark964
for true travis as well
givelovesolong
I thought I read somewhere that Chris' brother's band was going to support them...? Can't recall for the life of me where I saw that. I agree though, as mentioned above, that the 'bigger' named bands wouldn't support COLDPLAY. (Meaning; The Killers, Radiohead, U2, Oasis etc.) Not that they are too good, just that they can sell concerts out themselves, you know? Can't wait to find out who it is though. I hope it's a band like Interpol or something.
